Yinyang Yingxiang Lun states: Human sweat is named after Heaven and Earth's rain. Also: When Dampness is abundant, continuous rain pours. This is because True Qi is deficient, Stomach Fire is abundant, sweating does not stop. If Stomach True Qi is exhausted, and Yin Fire also declines, no sweat, dry skin, both Yin-within-Yang and Yang-within-Yin decline, no sweat in four seasons, life span is short. Dampness declines, Dryness prospers, this is normal logic. Short life span is due to Autumn Qi dominating killing. Generating Qi is Stomach Grain Qi, which is Spring Shaoyang generating Qi. After illness resolved, sweating did not stop, wet for days, aversion to cold, added thick clothes, occasional irritability/heat in chest/mind, dizziness/heaviness in head/eyes, decreased appetite. This is Stomach Yin Fire blazing, combining with external Rain Dampness heat, causing Damp-Heat to surge, sweating不停. Combined with Wind Evil, use East Wood/Jia-Yi Wind herbs to remove Dampness, use Sweet-Cold to drain Heat. Qianghuo Shengshi Tang (Notopterygium Overcoming Dampness Decoction) governs.
