Shao Yin Jun Huo (Ministerial Fire) governs Si Tian (Heavenly Qi), and Yang Ming Zao Jin (Dryness Metal) governs Zai Quan (Earthly Qi). The Central Yun is Tai Shang Metal Yun. The Metal of the year is excessive, and its Qi transformation operates ahead of time. This is known as the Ji Cheng (Firm Completion) era, referred to as: Shang Zheng, Shen Ping, Jin Su. Its corresponding phenomena and number are nine. In humans, it corresponds to the Lung Zang, the Nose orifice, the Skin and Hair, and manifests in disease as Cough. This describes the Earthly Qi of the year. Above, Shao Yin is seen; the Left Intermittent Qi is Tai Yin, and the Right Intermittent Qi is Jue Yin. Thus, the Heavenly Administration distributes clear Qi. Below, Yang Ming is seen; the Intermittent Qi is Shao Yang. Thus, the Earthly Qi is austere and its decree is sharp. The Qi of these two years transitioning involves Cold meeting Heat. In this year, Heaven's Qi adds Heat to Dryness. Clouds race, the Rain Mansion transforms, Humidity transformation proceeds, and timely rain descends. Metal and Fire combine their virtue, corresponding above to Ying Huo (Mars) and Tai Bai (Venus).
Diseases begin here. Heat diseases arise in the upper part, Clear/Cold diseases arise in the lower part, and Cold and Heat contend in the middle. The people suffer from Cold Jue entering the Stomach, Heart pain, Lower back pain, Abdominal distension, Dry throat with swelling. Before the middle of the year, the Heavenly Qi is governed by Shao Yin Jun Huo. Shao Yin has Ben and Biao transformations; if Cold and Heat are balanced, its Qi is harmonious. After the middle of the year, the Earthly Qi is governed by Yang Ming Zao Jin. Yang Ming does not follow Ben and Biao but transforms through Zhong Qi; with Dryness and Humidity equally mixed, its transformation is level. The year is peaceful.
