The Heart governs blood and corresponds to the lower abdomen. The Small Intestine communicates with the Yin gate (external genitalia) and the Zi Zang (uterus). The Hand-Shaoyin (Heart) and Hand-Taiyang (Small Intestine) meridians form an interior-exterior relationship. Blood within these meridians transforms into milk when flowing upward, and into menstruation when flowing downward. If Qi and blood are harmonious, menstruation flows smoothly; if physical exhaustion and deficiency occur, allowing wind-cold pathogens to invade, blood coagulates internally.
