Red and white leukorrhea (vaginal discharge with red and white coloration). Irregular menstruation. Pain in the umbilical and abdominal regions. Heaviness in the waist and knees. Dry retching and nausea. Loss of appetite. Five-center heat (heat sensation in the palms, soles, and chest). Fatigue in the four limbs. Alternating chills and fever. Vomiting of sour fluid. Dizziness and vertigo. Diffuse dull pain throughout the body. Restlessness in sitting and lying. Stagnation of the meridians. Disharmony of Ying (Nutrient) and Wei (Defensive) Qi. Deficiency of Qi and Blood. Progressing into Xue Lao Re (Blood Consumption Heat syndrome). Sallow complexion and emaciation. Palpitations and fright in dreams. Deficiency-induced night sweats. Or, due to improper postpartum care, when rainy and cloudy weather arrives, whole-body pain occurs. Regularly taking this medicine can regulate the ascending and descending of Yin and Yang, and warm the Blood Sea (Chong Mai or Uterus). If the uterus has been cold for a long time, or if there is lower abdominal pain, chew 30-40 pills thoroughly and swallow with stir-fried ginger and wine; it will be cured immediately. If an unmarried woman has amenorrhea, she should also take it. To treat Chang Feng Shi Du (Intestinal Wind and Food Toxicity) causing persistent hematochezia, mix equal parts of Huai Hua (Sophorae Flos) and Liu Ji Nu (Artemisiae Annuae Herba) into a fine powder. Take on an empty stomach with rice gruel; it is miraculous.
Bai Jiang (Burned Ginger), Qing Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), San Leng (Sparganii Rhizoma), E Zhu (Curcumae Rhizoma) (each 1 liang), Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix) (more than 1 sheng). The above six herbs are first boiled in rice vinegar until dry. Vinegar: 2 liang.
Grind the above into a fine powder. Make pills using vinegar paste, sized like paulownia seeds. Take 30 pills per dose. On an empty stomach, before meals, swallow with ginger wine.
Formula for treating women's dry mouth.
Take one yellow chicken liver. Burn it to ash and swallow with wine. Symptoms will settle and recover.
(Attached Discussion)
Regarding women suffering from Beng Zhong (Sudden Profuse Bleeding) and Lou Xia (Dribbling Bleeding): This is caused by labor injuring Qi and Blood, leading to deficiency and damage of the Chong and Ren meridians. The Chong and Ren meridians are the seas of the twelve meridians, originating from the Bao Gong (Uterus), which is the storehouse of menstrual blood. If injured by emotions (joy/anger) or labor, the Liver cannot store blood in the uterus, and the uterus cannot transmit blood to the sea of meridians. Thus, Beng Zhong and Lou Xia occur, with continuous dribbling. Beng Zhong refers to sudden profuse bleeding, which is the most severe form of Lou Zheng. The appearance may resemble pig liver, or present five colors, or look like rice water, mucus, rotting melon juice, bean soup juice, or indigo dye. Sometimes mixed with black dried blood, or purely colored. All these result from deficiency of Chong and Ren, overwork, and emotional injury affecting the Liver. If prolonged, it causes dizziness, blurred vision, shortness of breath, palpitations, sallow complexion, emaciation, vexatious heat, dry mouth, cold pain in the umbilical/abdominal region, vomiting, anorexia, and limb weakness. Severe cases lead to distension and edema. Pulse diagnosis: Wiry and large. Wiry indicates decline; Large indicates Kou (Cun-kou/Cun pulse hollow feeling). Decline indicates Cold; Kou indicates Deficiency. Cold and Deficiency combing is called Ge (Leather) pulse. For women with Lou Xia, if Cun, Guan, and Chi pulses are all deficient, it is Lou Xue (bleeding); if the pulse is floating, it is difficult to treat. The treatment method is to regulate and smooth the Chong and Ren meridians, calm and stop bleeding, harmonize Qi and Blood, and return to utility. Internally nourishing the hundred vessels, externally regulating menstruation, thereby eliminating the risk of Beng Zhong and Lou Xia. (The five Zang organs all receive Qi and Blood. If damaged, their colors manifest differently according to the organ. If all five Zang are deficient, bleeding occurs, with five colors following the blood. Pulse wiry and large. Wind pathogen entering the Shao Yin meridian causes women to leak red and white discharge. If red and white leakage persists, a small, deficient, and slippery pulse indicates survival; [rapid pulse indicates death]. Also, leaking red and white blood, losing several sheng daily, rapid pulse indicates death, slow pulse indicates survival. Manifestations: White Beng resembles mucus; Red Beng resembles red/blue plant juice; Yellow Beng resembles rotting melon juice; Green mixes and flows down. Women's White Beng is caused by labor injuring the Bao Luo (uterine collaterals) and extreme Qi deficiency. The Lung governs Qi. Extreme cold and labor cause its color to mix with turbid fluids between the Bao Luo, bursting down as White Beng.
Regarding women's Beng Zhong: It is caused by damage to the Zang-Fu organs and deficiency of Qi and Blood in the Chong and Ren meridians. The Chong and Ren are the seas of meridians... [Text fragment] ...mixed with slight cold leukorrhea, mostly due to insecurity of the Lower Jiao internalizing wind-cold. For Beng Zhong, administer Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma) and other blackened herbs. Blood stops temporarily but returns. For leukorrhea, administer Shu Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf processed with honey/vinegar), Yu Liang (Yuyuliang), Mu Li (Ostreae Concha), Hai Piao Xiao (Sepiae Endoconcha). Leukorrhea pauses but returns. The Classics state: Wei Qi warms the muscles, fills the skin, thickens the interstices, and controls opening/closing. If Wei Qi is deficient, muscles are not warm, skin not full, interstices lose control. Moreover, the Stomach is the Sea of Blood, where fluids gather. The Stomach is Central Earth, governing muscles and constraining blood/fluids. If Stomach Qi is deficient, muscles are weak and skin empty, blood and fluids cannot be constrained, leaking continuously without pause. Doctors stopping bleeding must focus on formulas that consolidate Wei and strengthen the Spleen. Here, Guizhi Fuzi Tang consolidates Wei; Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) strengthen the Spleen. Both are indispensable. Wine drinkers who prefer roasted foods may have heat-assisted bleeding; Huanglian Wan (Coptis Pill) is essential here. Lung collateral pulse weakness also governs leukorrhea; Caoguo (Tsaoko Fructus) and Baizhu can dry dampness, but must be assisted by Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini). If leukorrhea stems from lingering wind-cold, use Guigui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Baizhu (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix - *Note: Text says Bai Zhi*) to disperse cold, then seal and consolidate. Precision in selection is key.
Women who have miscarried or had abortions, or recovered from bleeding, should not engage in intercourse prematurely, lest they develop Beng Zhong, Lou Xia, and leukorrhea. Also, prolonged amenorrhea... [Text fragment] ...stir-fried licorice... causes blood beng to scatter rapidly. Use Yanhusuo San (Corydalis Powder), a cooling-blood and harmonizing-meridian formula. Renzhai's Zhizhi Fanglun states: "Suwen says Yin deficiency and Yang pounding is called Beng." This means blood flows freely when heated. Siwu Tang assists Yin and generates fluids; Zhike San suppresses Yang; Fuling Erchen Tang harmonizes them, balancing Yin and Yang so blood follows meridians. If Chong and Ren are insecure and Lower Yuan is chronically deficient, causing blood to lack closure, use Baizhu Tang plus Dang Gui and Muxiang. Swallow Zhenling Dan for best results. For persistent Lou Xue, new fetal injury, or postpartum retained blood forming hard masses preventing uterine closure, causing continuous bleeding beyond days/months, do not immediately use hemostatic decoctions. Use Mudan Wan/San (Moutan Pills/Powder) first. Wait for hard blood to dissolve, then bleeding stops. Once dissolved, dribbling ceases gradually. Afterward, address remaining injuries. Women losing much blood during childbirth, lactation, fetal injury, Beng Zhong, metal wounds, or tooth extraction... If bleeding persists severely, causing dim vision, deafness, and dizziness upon lifting head, boil Dang Gui and Chuan Xiong (each 3 liang) in water to stabilize. Then sequentially combine various decoctions.
