Patients who were previously robust but have now become emaciated, with a gurgling sound in the epigastrium (chest and diaphragm area), vomiting immediately after eating, expelling both food and drink together, are diagnosed as having Phlegm Vomiting (Tan Ou). This may be caused by Qi stagnation and phlegm-fluid accumulation in the Stomach.

Symptoms include fullness and obstruction below the heart (epigastric stuffiness), gurgling sounds in the intestines, vomiting immediately after eating. It may also be caused by alcohol consumption or eating sweets and cold foods, resulting in fluid retention.
Ingredients: Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparatum (Banxia, 2 liang, washed ten times in hot water to remove slipperiness), Radix Ginseng (Renshen, 3 qian, remove rhizome and slice). Divide into four doses. For each dose, use three zhan of water, add two qian of honey, mix well with water.
