Wind-heat toxic factors accumulate in the Zang-Fu organs and attack the sinews and vessels, condensing to form Scrofula (Luo Li). If the pathogenic factor is deeply contracted, it rushes into the muscles and flesh, failing to dissipate, or forms ulcerative sores with continuous discharge of pus and water. It may also be triggered by dietary indiscretions or external injury from wind-cold. Over a long period, medical treatment proves ineffective, leading to chronic non-healing. This disease particularly contraindicates worry, overthinking, anger, and resentment, which damage Qi and Blood, as well as the consumption of cold foods.
