[Supplementary Discussion]
Rouci (Fleshy Spur/Ingrown Nail), also known as onychocryptosis or pterygium unguis, grows between the toes. Its shape resembles a hard callosity (callus), adhering to the surrounding flesh, causing dull pain akin to needle pricks. It is caused by tight shoes and socks rubbing against each other.
Prescriptions
Songzhi Gao (Pine Resin Ointment) (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Treats Rouci.
Baijiao (Resin from Platycladus orientalis), Songzhi (Pine resin) (each 1 liang), Huangla (Yellow beeswax) (0.5 liang). Melt these ingredients over fire into an ointment. Apply when cool, and secure firmly with bandages.
Wushi Gao (No-Food Ointment) (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Treats Rouci.
Feizao Jia (Soap pod) (one piece), Wushizi (Terminalia chebula fruit) (three pieces). Burn until smoke ceases, then grind into fine powder. Separately grind Zaojiao (Gleditsia sinensis fruit) in acid rice vinegar within a mortar to form a paste, then mix with the powder for use.
Xunliu San (Sulfur Fumigation Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Treats Rouci.
Xunluxiang (Olibanum/Frankincense), Shi Liuhuang (Mineral Sulfur). Mix equal parts and grind uniformly. Apply to the lesion and cauterize with a heated hairpin for efficacy.
Fengxiangzhi Gao (Liquidambar Ointment) (from *Shenghui Fang*)

Zhuzhi (Lard) (1 liang), Fengxiangzhi (Liquidambar resin) (1 fen). First grind lard until soft, then add powdered Liquidambar and mix into an ointment. Carefully remove debris from the spur site, then apply the medication.
Ruxiang San (Frankincense Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Treats persistent Rouci that has not healed.
Songzhi (Pine resin), Ruxiang (Olibanum/Frankincense) (each 1 fen). Grind together finely. First puncture the area with a needle, then apply the powder, sealing tightly.
Sha San (Sal Ammoniac Powder)
