Initially, pain in right shoulder and arm, lack of support, inability to move, excessive sweating, muscle emaciation, inability to lie straight, lying on side causes severe pain. Classics say: sweating on one side leads to hemiplegia. I reflect on Neijing: "Deficiency and Excess are neighbors, resolve and unblock them." Also says: "Emaciation remaining unchanged, regulate and puncture it," so meridians are unblocked, Qi and Blood harmonize and recover. Also says: "Sunken conditions require moxibustion," because Yang Qi sinks into Yin, shoulder/arm pain and immobility, use fire moxibustion to draw Qi up, tonify and warm. All above symptoms suit moxibustion and acupuncture. First puncture Jing-Well points of twelve meridians. On April 12th, on Jing-Well points of right shoulder/arm, needle first then moxa 6-7 moxibulbs, until Qi arrives, slightly adds flesh to emaciated areas, reduces sweating, shoulder/arm gains slight strength. On May 8th, moxa Jianjing (GB21) then Chize (LU5), 28 moxibulbs each, drawing Qi down to connect with healthy Qi. Next day arm gains more strength, able to move freely. Time is mid-summer, slight summer heat, use Qingfei Yinzi to tonify Lung Qi, nourish Spleen/Stomach, calm Heart Qi.
