The so-called Mai Hemorrhoids (Mai Zhì, hemorrhoids associated with blood vessels) result from the accumulation of damp-heat within the Zang-Fu organs, preventing the free circulation and dispersion of Wind-Heat. The pathogenic factors of Wind-Heat flow into the lower body when the body's defensive Qi is deficient. Consequently, sores appear around the anus, accompanied by itching, pain, and bleeding. Generally, excess patterns manifest as pain, while deficiency patterns manifest as itching. Currently, Damp-Heat attacks the lower body due to deficiency, causing both itching and pain around the anus. Furthermore, "Mai" (Vessels) is the residence of Blood; when affected by Heat, Blood flows recklessly, leading to hemorrhage.

Shachong Fang (Parasite-Killing Formula) (From *Zhouhou Beiji Fang*)
Treating Blood Hemorrhoids with sores, itching, and pain around the anus.
Burn *Leporis Hepaticus* (Tatan, 獭肝) to ash, grind finely. Take 2 qian bi with rice drink on an empty stomach. Take again in the evening.
Huai Baipi Tang (Sophora White Bark Decoction) (From *Zhouhou Beiji Fang*)
Treating Mai Hemorrhoids with parasites, unceasing pus and blood discharge.
Use 2 jin of Sophora white bark, chop finely. Decoct in 1.5 dou of water until reduced to 1 dou. Strain, pour into a basin, and sit/fumigate. Reheat when cool. Parasites should pass naturally. Further, grind Sophora white bark into powder, wrap 1 qian in cotton, and insert into the lower orifice. Another method uses Sophora white bark for fumigation/washing once daily. Follow this method.
Tao Ye Xunxi Fang (Peach Leaf Fumigation and Wash Formula)
Treating Mai Hemorrhoids with a sensation of insect bites in the lower body.
Take one measure of peach leaves, pound and grind, steam until cooked. Place in a small-mouthed vessel, cover, and fumigate. Parasites will emerge.
Dizhi San (Hemorrhoid-Cleansing Powder) (From *Taiping Shenghui Fang*)
Treating Mai Hemorrhoids with a sensation of insect bites, itching, bleeding in the lower body. Also treats rectal prolapse.
Use 0.5 liang of *Alumen* (Baifan, 白矾). Take 3 sheng of urine, add alum powder, wash while hot. Brush onto the area with a goose feather. Improvement in one day, cure in three days, lifelong prevention.
