Jiuzhu Danggui Wan (From *Shixiao Fang*)
Treats hernia, leukorrhea flowing downward, podagra. Lower body feels like ice and snow. Even with heating and thick cotton clothing, cold remains unbearable; this is extreme cold. Face resembles a dried fish, muscles waste away rapidly. Urine flows uncontrollably along with constant leukorrhea, unawareness of leakage. Face is pale, eyes blue-green like vegetables, vision blurred, body heavy as mountain, walking unsteady, legs and knees emaciated, constipation, inability to speak, extreme weakness, inability to eat, epigastric fullness, mental restlessness, unbearable suffering, facial grease, aversion to cold on back, involuntary urination unawareness. This indicates exhaustion of true qi in Upper, Middle, and Lower Yang, hence incessant hiccups and vomiting due to extreme stomach deficiency. Pulse is deep, cold, tight, and choppy, empty upon pressure. If pulse is surging and large yet choppy, empty upon pressure, it still indicates body coldness. Deep pressure without movement indicates extreme yin-cold. Emptiness indicates extreme deficiency of both qi and blood.

Bujing Guzhen Tang
Madam of Bai Wenju suffers from continuous leukorrhea leakage for a long time. Various medicines have failed. Diagnosis reveals extremely faint Chi pulse of Pericardium meridian. Leukorrhea flows continuously. The disease lies in the Dai meridian. Hehe said: "Metrorrhagia lasting long becomes leukorrhea; prolonged leakage dries up the bone marrow." Metrorrhagia begins with continuous bloody flooding. Long-term bleeding leads to blood deficiency, followed by yang loss. Hence, white slippery substances flow continuously. This is because the Blood Sea is constantly dry, fluids are lost, dryness cannot nourish sinews and bones. Using herbs from the meridian to guide treatment, employing large acrid-sweet greasy medicines to moisten dryness and replenish fluids, large acrid-hot aromatic medicines to tonify yang channels and generate blood vessels, bitter-cold medicines to drain lung heat and rescue upper heat, injured qi is supplemented with Renshen, slightly bitter-warm medicines act as assistants... Dingxiang Jiao Ai Tang Treats continuous metrorrhagia. Due to insufficient Heart qi, labor, and irregular diet, meridians are deficient. Both Chi pulses are string-tight and surging-large, empty upon pressure. Patient feels cold below umbilicus like ice, seeks thick clothes/blankets to ward off cold. White slippery leukorrhea flows intermittently like a leaking roof, occasionally some blood. Right Chi pulse is sometimes surging-large and faint. Heavy sudden flow of leak-like discharge indicates string-tight pulse means much cold; occasional surging-large pulse means little heat. Combined, string-tight indicates excess Northern Cold Water. Surging-large pulse appearing indicates Fire of Mingmen and Pericardium. More black than red matter matches the appearance of leaking roof water.
