The so-called Feng Ju (Wind Carbuncle) originates from Wind-Dampness Qi invading the Cou Li (skin texture and muscle interstices), flowing into the blood vessels, causing stagnation and obstruction. This leads to limb spasms, curling, swelling, and protrusion, eventually manifesting as sores and carbuncles. Consequently, pain occurs, and the condition persists without healing for a long time; this is Feng Ju. Generally, because Wind pathogen predominates, it causes movement and instability; thus, the location of this carbuncle is irregular. It arises from sweating after drunkenness and lying exposed to wind, allowing Wind to enter the skin and Cou Li, lodging in the meridians, and clashing with Ying Qi (nutritive Qi circulating within the vessels) and Wei Qi (defensive Qi circulating outside the vessels).
Prescriptions
Huang Wan (Cinnamon Pill) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats Feng Ju formed over time due to Wind entering the meridians after sweating following drunkenness.
Ingredients: Huang (Cinnamomi Ramulus, sliced), Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed), Fushen (Poria Cum Radix Pini, woody part removed), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and dried), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed, each 5 fen), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis, 8 fen), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw and sliced, 3 fen), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, forked parts removed, 5 fen), Shexiang (Moschus, separately ground, 0.5 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder and mix evenly. Use refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills per dose. Swallow on an empty stomach with Ginger Decoction. Take another dose after meals, swallowing with Ophiopogonis Decoction.
Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats Feng Ju caused by Wind entering the meridians after sweating following drunkenness.
Ingredients: Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, roots and joints removed, 3 liang), Wujia Pi (Acanthopanacis Cortex, 1.5 liang), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, forked parts removed), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, radix head removed), Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus, rough bark removed), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and peeled), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed, each 2 liang), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, skin and navel removed, 1 piece), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, 2.5 liang), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, skin and tip removed, double kernels, 80 pieces).

Strain to remove dregs. Warm and take one zhan per dose. Take three doses in total. After taking the medicine, cover with warm blankets to induce slight sweating and avoid wind.
Fangfeng Tang (Saposhnikovia Decoction) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats Wind-Toxin invading the body, lingering in the blood vessels without dispersing, clashing with Ying and Wei Qi to form Feng Ju. Symptoms include bodily restlessness and heat, dizziness, confusion, swelling, and pain.
