Wind-phlegm disease arises from the obstruction of qi and vessels, and the accumulation of fluid retention. Although its manifestations may differ in terms of cold and heat, the symptoms of chest and epigastric stuffiness and indigestion are consistent. Generally, when wind pathogen stagnates and the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) functions disharmoniously, fluid retention is prone to accumulate; wind can generate heat, and stagnation can also transform into phlegm. Therefore, symptoms such as discomfort in the head and eyes, and mental confusion or turbidity occur. Those who experience nausea, vomiting, and inability to eat suffer from this due to stomach cold. Thus, treatment cannot be generalized. Wind-phlegm is characterized by shortness of breath, excessive sleepiness, dizziness, and frequent desire to vomit.
