The Kidney governs water metabolism. The Spleen and Stomach both govern the Earth element (transformation and transportation). The nature of Earth overcomes Water. The Spleen and Stomach are interior-exteriorly related and coordinate with each other. The Stomach is the sea of food and fluids. If Stomach Qi is deficient and unable to transmit and transform properly, it causes water stagnation and blockage.
