As for epilepsy caused by wind pathogenic factors, it is due to the deficiency of blood and qi, allowing wind pathogens to enter the yin meridians. Humans rely on blood and qi to nourish the zang-fu organs. If blood and qi are insufficient, it leads to heart deficiency (Heart Deficiency), causing sudden collapse or falling to the ground.
Pig Heart Soup Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating wind epilepsy (Wind Epilepsy) and fright epilepsy (Fright Epilepsy). It also treats palpitations and qi rebellion due to worry and indignation, as well as postpartum wind-stroke in women, presenting with fright, evil spirits, and mental confusion.
Ingredients: One pig heart, half a jin of goji leaf (Lycii Cortex Folium), five stalks of scallion white (cut). All ingredients should be finely chopped, mixed with fermented soybean (Douchi) to make a soup, and consumed.
It can also be prepared as porridge or steamed/stir-fried.
Gypsum Porridge Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating wind-epilepsy, dry mouth with difficulty moving the tongue, vexation, headache, sudden high fever, and mental restlessness.
Ingredients: Half a jin of Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao), three he of japonica rice (Jingmi). Use five large bowls of water to boil the gypsum, extract two large bowls of liquid, remove the gypsum residue, and use this liquid to cook the rice into porridge.
Add other seasonings when the porridge is nearly cooked.
Wild Fox Meat Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating fright epilepsy and wind epilepsy. Symptoms include spiritual confusion, erroneous speech, and uncontrolled singing and laughing. It also treats cold disorders of the five zang organs and gu poison.
Usage: Take one jin of wild fox meat and its five zang organs, process them according to culinary methods, make a soup with fermented soybean (Douchi), and consume after seasoning with the five flavors. Alternatively, prepare as porridge; roasting or steaming are both acceptable.
Mutton or crucian carp juice can be used as substitutes, though fermented soybean juice is preferred. The expulsion of clear saliva by the patient indicates efficacy.
White Rooster Soup Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating wind-epilepsy. Symptoms include insomnia, arrogance and haughtiness, continuous aimless walking, and excessive speech. This recipe calms the five zang organs.
Usage: Take one white rooster, process it according to culinary methods, boil in water until tender, tear the meat, and add scallion white, ginger, and the five flavors to the broth to make a soup. Consume on an empty stomach.
Pig Head Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating wind-epilepsy with irregular onset and cessation.
Usage: Take one pig head, boil in water until cooked, let it cool, slice it, and consume with the five flavors.
Donkey Meat Pickled Dish Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating wind-epilepsy and sorrowful or unhappy moods. This recipe calms the mind and directs qi downward.
Usage: Take five jin of donkey meat, boil the meat, cut it into fine shreds, and prepare as a pickled dish with fermented soybean juice, scallions, and soy sauce. Alternatively, prepare as a soup.
Pork Sashimi Recipe (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating wind-induced mania that persists for a long time without recovery. Symptoms include intermittent singing and laughing, and walking at irregular times.
Usage: Take five jin of pork, boil until cooked, cut into thin slices (kuai), add the five flavors, and consume freely.
