*Luofu Zhi* (Records of Mount Luofu) states: Yunhe (Cloud Core, a mineral substance) originates from Mount Luofu and belongs to the category of Yunmu (Mica). The yellow variety comes from Huangyun Peak; the white variety comes from Baiyun Peak. When ground into powder and mixed into a paste for consumption, long-term use enables one to inhale and exhale clouds of five colors.
Its nature is neutral (Ping). Used as food or medicine, it prolongs life and prevents disease, with effects similar to Yunmu (Mica).
Zhu Paishan’s *Ganyuan Xiaoshi* (Brief Records from the Citrus Garden) states: Hanhai Stone (Ocean Sea Stone) originates from the Hanhai region. This area is near Zewang, covering three hundred li in circumference, devoid of water and vegetation. The stones there are large like melons or fists, small like taro or chestnuts, and some like pearls or beans, all possessing five colors. They resemble Manao (Agate), have pores and are hollow inside, containing sand within the pores that can be used in medicine. The stone quality is hard; the exterior can be ground, but the interior cannot, so they are often fashioned into artifacts based on their natural forms.
It primarily benefits vision (ming mu).
Such stones are found in deep mountains. Wherever spring water drips down from mountain rock cave walls over many years, water結 (Shuijie, a calcareous deposit formed by dripping water) accumulates where the water flows; this is the essence of extreme Yin. Formed relying on the moisture of Shiru (Stalactite dripstone) and condensing under the wind's force, locals call it Yanxiang (Rock Fragrance). Commonly known as Shuijian (Water Alkali). Obtained by chiseling stone, it is white like kiln ash; if it feels bone-chillingly cold when held in the hand, it is authentic.
*Baicao Jing* (Mirror of Hundred Herbs) states: Its nature is cold. Applied externally to treat burns and scalds, and bleeding from metal wounds. It is quenched with vinegar after heating, ground into powder, soaked in water with Baiguo (Biloba Fruit/Ginkgo Seed), crushed to extract juice, and taken internally mixed together.
*Mingsheng Zhi* (Records of Famous Places) states: It is found in streams of Mount Lu and places where dragons reside. Stones that feel cool and cold at night are authentic. Wang Bonong said: Such stones are present wherever dragons hibernate in deep mountains. Locals wait until the dragon ascends and leaves, then follow the traces to obtain them. The stones have five colors; transparent ones are preferred. Raw use is toxic. If crushed and thrown into vinegar, pieces that move and recombine are considered good.
Its nature is greatly cold. Ground into flour/powder, it can eliminate scars, resolve heat-toxins from sores, and applied as powder for summer heat prickly heat (Shufei), causing immediate disappearance.
Note: The dragon's body is purely Yang. For any Yang entity, Yin serves as its functional manifestation. Therefore, stones in dragon hibernation sites are naturally cold; those cooler at night indicate true Yin functioning. The fact that they recombine when thrown into vinegar is because the Dragon is the deity of the East, corresponding to Wood. Wood's flavor is sour. The stone senses this vital energy, hence it combines upon encountering vinegar. Its functions of clearing heat and eliminating scars also rely on its cold and astringent properties to achieve efficacy.
