Treats all types of hemorrhage, and conditions after the ulceration of sores where both Qi and Blood are deficient, presenting with aversion to cold, fever, thirst, and irritability. It is appropriate to use this prescription to tonify Qi. This is based on the principle that Blood is generated by Qi, and when Yang generates, Yin grows. The formula consists of Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 2 liang and Jujubae Fructus (Jujube) 10 pieces, decocted in water for oral administration.
Treats Qi and Blood injury caused by falls or blows, or Spleen damage due to overthinking, leading to Blood deficiency with Fire hyperactivity, resulting in insomnia (waking but unable to sleep), pain in the Heart and Spleen regions, lethargy and desire to lie down, palpitations, spontaneous sweating, night sweats, irregular bowel movements, or reckless bleeding from above or below. Its efficacy is very rapid.
Ingredients: Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Bai Fu Ling (Poria), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, stir-fried), Long Yan Rou (Longan Aril), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix), Suan Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, stir-fried, each 1 qian), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 5 fen), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried, 3 fen), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, 1 qian).
Decoct the above ingredients with Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus) in water for oral administration. If Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) and Shan Zhi (Gardeniae Fructus) are added, it becomes Jia Wei Gui Pi Tang (Modified Spleen-Restoring Decoction).
Treats conditions such as falls or blows, latent Fire in the Stomach and Spleen, dryness of the Large Intestine, or Wind-Blood stasis.
Ingredients: Ma Zi Ren (Cannabis Fructus, 1 liang), Tao Ren (Persicae Semen, 1 liang, skin and tips removed), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Dang Gui Wei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix caudex), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, baked), Zao Jiao Ci (Gleditsiae Spina, each 5 qian).
Grind the above into powder, mix with refined honey to make pills, sized like paulownia seeds. Using Pig Bile to coat the pills is particularly excellent. Take 30–50 pills per dose, administered with warm boiled water before meals. For frail individuals, first use Pig Bile to guide unblocking; if still obstructed, it is advisable to tonify Qi and Blood.
Treats whip marks and metal wounds where Qi and Blood are damaged, presenting with muscle heat, extreme thirst with a desire to drink, red eyes, red face, persisting day and night. The pulse is flooding yet empty, and completely absent upon heavy pressure. This condition often arises from hunger, thirst, and labor. If Bai Hu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is mistakenly used, death will ensue.
