Any hematochezia (bleeding from the rectum) belongs to Changfeng (Intestinal Wind). Bleeding after defecation is called Neizhi (Internal Hemorrhoid). Bleeding before defecation is called Waizhi (External Hemorrhoid). The prolapse of the rectal head out of the anus is called Tuogang (Rectal Prolapse). Fleshy growths on the four sides of the anus are called Shunainai Zhi (Mouse Teat Hemorrhoid). Bleeding from the top of the anus is called Lou (Fistula/Abscess). This formula treats all these conditions generally.
Niu Huang Jiao Sai (Horn of Yellow Cow, one piece), Zhu Ya Zao Jiao (Toothed Soap Pod, two liang), She Pi (Snake Skin, one strip), Chuan Shan Jia (Pangolin Scale, two liang), Da Fu Zi (Large Prepared Aconite Root, one piece, processed, skin and umbilical scar removed), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis, half liang, stir-fried), Ye (Leaf, four liang), She Xiang (Musk, one qian), Pi (Bark, one piece).
Place the above ingredients in a clay pot together. Use charcoal fire to calcine them until they are completely red-hot. Take them out and place them on the ground. Cover with a basin and seal the edges with soil to remove the "fire toxicity" (heat residue). Then, pound and sieve into a fine powder. The patient should first crush half a walnut kernel, mix it with half a cup of wine, and take two qian of the medicine powder mixed in this liquid. It will be effective immediately upon ingestion.
Treat Qi deficiency in the three Jiao (San Wan), cold accumulation in the Middle Jiao, spleen failure to transform and transport, slow digestion of food, frequent injury from eating, chest and diaphragm fullness and oppression, stabbing pain in the hypochondrium, vomiting and hiccups, belching with acid regurgitation and nausea, abdominal distension with borborygmus, heart and abdominal pain, dysphagia with diaphragmatic Qi stagnation, reverse flow vomiting of food, and decreased appetite. All these can be treated. (The following two formulas were transmitted by Shang Guan Zhupo.)
Qing Pi (Green Tangerine Peel, three liang), Chen Pi (Aged Tangerine Peel, two liang), Liang Jiang (Galangal Rhizome, two liang), Hong Dou (Red Bean, two liang), Gui Zhi (Cinnamon Twig, one liang, coarse bark removed), Suo Sha (Cardamom Seed, two liang, skin removed), Peng Zhu (Curcuma Zedoaria, processed, two liang), Cao Guo (Black Cardamom Fruit, two liang, skin removed), Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger, two liang, processed), Lai Fu Zi (Radish Seed, two liang, stir-fried).
Mu Xiang (Costus Root, two liang), Sha Ren (Amomum Fruit, half qian), A Wei (Asafoetida, one fen. Dissolve with Sha Ren using vinegar, remove sand/stone impurities, then grind).
Mix the above ingredients. Use flour paste boiled as a binder to make pills, sized like mung beans. Take fifty pills per dose, swallowed with light ginger soup. Time is not restricted. Take twice daily. Long-term use greatly tonifies the Spleen and Stomach, clears the diaphragm, promotes appetite, dispels cold-dampness, and strengthens and warms the Middle Jiao. If one has chronic deep cold and accumulated cold causing occasional abdominal pain, this is suitable for consumption. If these symptoms are absent, remove Sha Ren; regular use can warm and nourish the Middle Jiao, benefiting the Spleen and Stomach.
