Three jin (approx. 1.5 kg) [of a base ingredient, likely water or vinegar, context implies solvent], soak all the medicinal herbs in it for three days; if in winter, soak for seven days. Decoct over charcoal fire until the liquid turns black. Strain the dregs thoroughly using a silk sieve. Continue decocting until the liquid reaches the consistency of "dripping water forming pearls" (a thick syrup). At this stage, add six jin (approx. 3 kg) of purified Huang Dan (Lead Carbonate, *Litharge*), which has been stir-fried. Stir continuously to form an ointment. After cooling, add two liang (approx. 75 g) each of Xiang Ru (Frankincense, *Boswellia*) and Mo Yao (Myrrh, *Commiphora*), previously ground into fine powder, and mix evenly. Pour the mixture into water to eliminate its "fire toxicity" for two days.

**Stick Injury** (See details under Accidental Injury): After receiving stick blows, drink child's urine mixed with wine to prevent blood stasis from attacking the heart. Apply hot tofu slices to the bruised area from the beating. The steam will cause the tofu to change color, indicating it has absorbed the bruising. Replace with fresh hot tofu repeatedly until the purple-black discoloration completely dissipates.

**Another Prescription**: Use Hua Shi (Talcum, *Talcum*), Da Huang (Rhubarb, *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma*), and Chi Shi Zhi (Red Halloysite, *Halloysitum Rubrum*), five qian (approx. 18.75 g) each. Gently scrape it onto paper, ensuring no contact with iron tools. Monitor the heat carefully; too hot and it evaporates away, too cold and it does not sublime. Next, crush radishes and decoct them in water, including the dregs, pouring the mixture into a large earthenware jar. Sit over the jar to fumigate the area. When warm enough, pour the contents of the basin out to wash the hemorrhoids. Dry the area, then apply the aforementioned powder. Morning application leads to evening cure; invariably effective.
