Danxi Zhizhi Decoction: Treats infertility in obese women, caused by fatty membranes blocking the uterus. It is appropriate to first take this formula for regulation. (If phlegm is located in the upper jiao [upper burner], the method of Zhang Hezi should be used.)
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, washed with wine, 1 liang) Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 7 qian 5 fen) Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) Baizhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) Banxia (Fructus Pinelliae, soaked in hot water) Xiangfu (Rhizoma Cyperi) Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, each 1 liang) Fuling (Poria) Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 0.5 liang)
The above herbs are cut into pieces to make ten doses. For each dose, add three slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct with water, and swallow the pills described below after taking the decoction.
Danxi Maozhi Pills:
Baizhu (2 liang) Banxiaqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata cum Artemisia et Sophorae Semen) Chuanxiong Xiangfuzi (Fructus Cyperi Rotundus), each 1 liang; Fuling Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, stir-fried), each 0.5 liang; Juhong (Exocarpium Citri Grandis, 4 qian); Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae). (Do not use the other ingredients of Siwu Tang).
The above herbs are ground into powder, mixed with congee, and formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 80 pills per dose, administered with decocted soup. If there is excessive heat, add Huanglian (Radix Coptidis) and Zhishi (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus), each 1 liang. (Use Zhishi and Huanglian). After taking this medicine, subsequently take Zhongsi Pills.
Zhongsi Pills:
This is the previously mentioned Qin Gui Pills, excluding Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) and Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae).
Take 5 pills per dose, administered with wine on an empty stomach; increasing to 10 pills is acceptable. After feeling pregnant for three months, do not continue taking it. Note: This formula is indeed Qin Gui Pills. Zhu Danxi advised against its use, likely because he cautioned against using it for thin individuals lacking blood; however, for obese individuals with excessive dampness, combined with the preceding regulating medicines, and reducing the dosage of pills by ninety percent (taking only 5 pills), there is no harm. Repeated trials have proven effective. (Zhu Danxi strongly criticized the errors of Qin Gui Pills, yet adopted Zhongsi Pills; is this contradictory? Or does it reflect selection based on specific conditions?)
Xiaozhimao Daotan Decoction:
Banxia (prepared with ginger juice) Nanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma, fire-roasted) Juhong Zhike (Fructus Aurantii, pith removed, stir-fried with bran) Fuling Huashi (Talcum, finely ground), each 1 qian; Chuanxiong Fangfeng Qianghuo (Radix Notopterygii), each 5 fen; Cheqianzi (Semen Plantaginis, 7 fen).
The above herbs are finely cut for one dose. Add five slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct with water, and take on an empty stomach, followed by dry food to settle the medicine. (Understand the intent behind using Nanxing, Huashi, Fangfeng, and Qianghuo).
Another prescription: Treats obese women whose constitution is rich and dense, who indulge in alcohol and food, resulting in irregular menstruation and inability to conceive. This is termed "excess body fat overflowing, blocking the uterus."
Nanxing Banxia Qianghuo Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Lanceatae, added additionally) Taixiong (Chuanxiong) Fangfeng Huashi
The above herbs are cut into pieces, decocted with water, and taken orally. Alternatively, Daotan Decoction may also be used.
