Danxi Formula: Treats amenorrhea caused by accumulated phlegm damaging the meridians, accompanied by delirium at night. (This formula is extraordinary within its mildness; the method of identifying the disease starts from the symptom of delirium.)
Trichosanthis Fructus (Gualouzi) (1 liang), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) (0.5 liang), Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu) (10 grains), Persicae Semen (Taoren) (50 seeds), Red Yeast Rice (Hongqu) (2 qian), Amomi Fructus Rotundus (Suosha) (3 liang), Crataegi Fructus Powder (Shanzhagmo) (1 liang).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, mix with ginger juice. Form pills the size of steamed wheat bread. Take 100 pills per dose, swallowed with warm water on an empty stomach.
Another Formula: Treats amenorrhea, tested repeatedly with verified efficacy. (Suitable for those with robust physique and abundant qi.) (It is said to be effective repeatedly, largely due to substantial stomach qi.)
Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Noupo), amount unrestricted, stir-fried with ginger juice until fragrant, finely sliced, decocted strongly, strained, taken on an empty stomach. Recovery occurs within no more than three or four doses.
Modified Daotan Decoction: Treats amenorrhea due to excessive body fat.
Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi), Poria (Baifuling), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhishi), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong).
Add fresh ginger, decoct in water, and take orally. (This treats conditions of excess stomach qi and profuse phlegm, not primarily to descend heart fire. Its effect on regulating menstruation relies on selecting the most appropriate single herb from Siwu Tang. Reflect upon this.)
The Classics state: When qi forces upward against the Lung (forcing upward against the Lung refers to heart fire flaring up and pressing on Metal; if Metal does not descend to generate Water, the primary treatment should be to descend heart fire, or nourish the master of Water to control the solar flare, which is also acceptable),
then heart qi cannot flow downward, thus menstruation does not occur. Now, using herbs like Huanglian and Noupo to guide out phlegm and descend fire, preventing qi from forcing upward against the Lung, heart qi can then flow downward, and menstruation resumes.
Zhangzhong Jin Wan (Golden Pill in Palm): Treats dry blood syndrome in women.
Manis Squama (Chuanshanjia, prepared), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Myristica Seed (Kudingxiang - *Note: Context suggests a specific bitter spice/seed, often identified as Piper longum or similar in ancient texts, but literal translation used*), Zanthoxyli Fructus (Chuanjiao), Lepidii Semen (Kutingli), Bletillae Rhizoma (Baifuzi), Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina (Zhuyazaojiao), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata (Caowutou) (each 3 qian), Crotonis Fructus (Badou) (1 qian, used whole and ground) (Badou is highly toxic, will it not cause harm?).
Grind the above into fine powder, mix with juice squeezed from raw green onions, form pills the size of a bullet. Use one pill each time, wrap in new cotton, insert into the vagina. On the first day, discharge becomes white; on the second day, red; on the third day, bleeding occurs. Miraculous effect.
Fanshi Wan (Alum Pill): Treats amenorrhea with difficulty, persistent hard masses in the viscera, presence of dry blood inside, and discharge of white matter.
Alumen (Fanshi) (3 qian, calcined), Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren) (1 fen).
Grind these two ingredients into powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a jujube pit. Insert into the vagina. For severe cases, re-insert.
Yili Xiandan (One-Pellet Immortal Pill): Treats dry blood consumption in women, as well as leukorrhea (red and white), and promotes conception miraculously.
Crotonis Fructus (Badou) (120 grains, shelled, placed on a new brick wrapped in paper, pounded to remove oil until clean and white-like, ready for use), Mylabris (Bomao) (60 grains, wings and feet removed), Manis Squama (Chuanshanjia) (5 qian, fried in oil), Rheum Palmatum (Dahuang), Lepidii Semen (Kutingli) (each 1 liang), Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus (Zaojiao) (1 liang, coarse skin scraped off, fire-parched).
Grind each ingredient separately into powder, mix together. Cook jujubes, remove skin and pits, and form pills the size of bullets. Wrap the medicine in an opened silkworm cocoon, attach to the head of a three-cun bamboo tube, leaving two to three cuns at the rear, twist once to prevent medicinal vapor from escaping externally. Before use, wash the vagina with warm water to ensure cleanliness, dry thoroughly. Moisten the tip of the pill with green onion juice, and insert deeply into the uterus. Leave for a full day and night, then remove the pill. Shortly after, a sensation of cold air descends from the ears, accompanied by chills and fever resembling Taiyang disease. Do not fear; diet can be taken arbitrarily without harm. Menstruation will flow freely within half a day, whether fresh blood or dead blood, all foul matter will be discharged. Avoid raw, cold, and stimulating foods. Thereafter, the uterus becomes warm, and pregnancy may result from intercourse. (The method is ingenious, but must only be used when there is indeed dry blood in the uterus.)
Tongjing Xiaqu Fang (Menstruation-Regulating Downward-Expelling Formula): Tested and proven miraculous.
Concha Meretricis (Haige Fen), Lepidii Semen (Kutingli), Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina (Ya Zao) (each 2.5 qian), Crotonis Fructus (Badou, oil slightly removed), Trichosanthis Radix (Tianhuafen) (5 qian), Myristica Seed (Kudingxiang), Euphorbiae Kansui Radix (Hongniangzi) (each 1.5 qian), Moschus (Shexiang) (a small amount).
Grind into fine powder. Take 1 qian each time, pound with green onion juice to form pills. Wrap in thin cotton, insert into the vaginal opening using a five-cun bamboo tube. When heat is felt, yellow fluid will flow first, followed by the onset of menstruation.
