According to verification, *Yiwuzhi* (Record of Strange Things) states: It grows among the islets and shores of the South Sea. The tree is over one zhang (approx. 3.3 meters) high. Its fruit resembles a jujube; it flowers in the second lunar month and ripens in the eighth month, possessing a very fragrant aroma. The olive wood is tall and sturdy, making harvesting difficult; if salt is rubbed on the trunk, the fruits fall off naturally. (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 23, p. 37; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 479; *Bencao Gangmu*, p. 1301)
The taste is sweet and delicious. Its nature is greatly warm, and it is non-toxic. It primarily treats various wind-related disorders and warms the stomach and intestines. Long-term consumption leads to a light body, extended lifespan, and prevention of aging. Its flavor is similar to that of the Piante Ren (Bian Tao Ren, a type of peach kernel from Biezhanguo). The usage of this Piante Ren is no different from that of the Northern Peach Kernel (Beitao Ren). (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 12, p. 6; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 291; *Bencao Gangmu*, p. 1304)
After removing the peel, it is eaten and tastes extremely fragrant and delicious. This differs from the Pine Nut (Songzi) of Yunnan. The Yunnan Pine Nut resembles Ephedrae Fructus (Badou, Croton Seed) in shape; its flavor is not strong, and excessive consumption generates heat toxicity. (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 23, p. 40; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 478)
It originates from Biezhanguo. Its flavor resembles that of the Sea Pine Nut (Haisongzi), and its usage is identical to that of the Northern Peach Kernel. (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 23, p. 40; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 478)
According to verification, Xu Biao’s *Nanzhou Ji* (Record of Southern Provinces) states: It grows in the valleys of Mount Nan. It flowers in the second lunar month and bears fruit resembling an egg by the end of summer. It primarily tonifies Qi, calms the Shen (Spirit), treats spermatorrhea and seminal emission, hemorrhoids, and warms the intestines. Long-term consumption causes no harm. (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 23, p. 42; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 479; *Bencao Gangmu*...)
Mount Nan also produces it; the local people call it Ganlan (Olive). Its taste is sour and fragrant, its nature is slightly warm, and it is non-toxic. It primarily treats watery diarrhea, intestinal deficiency-cold, and vexing heat. It is suitable for raw consumption and can dissipate alcohol qi. (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 23, p. 42; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 479; *Bencao Gangmu*, p. 1276)
The tree resembles the Chestnut Tree (Limumu). Its fruit resembles an acorn and has three angles. It aids digestion, stops coughing, treats emaciation and weakness, and enhances the complexion. Long-term consumption causes no harm. (Cited from *Daguan Bencao*, Vol. 23, p. 42; *Zhenghe Bencao*, p. 479; *Bencao Gangmu*, p. 1309)
