[Anonymous] Do not use Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans (Centipede) when using Qianzu Chong (Millipede); they look very similar, but Qianzu Chong has white flesh on its head, and a pointed face and mouth. If mistakenly used, contact causes foul odor to penetrate the head, which can lead to death. To process Centipede, first stir-fry centipede wood powder (or willow borer powder) in an earthenware vessel until the powder turns black and charred, remove the wood powder, and remove the tail.
[Lei Xiao] When collecting Millipede, stir-fry with bran tips until the bran is black and charred, remove and discard the bran, scrape off the head and legs with a bamboo knife, grind into powder for use.
