Method for Mole Removal: Take several grains of glutinous rice, remove the husks, mix a small amount of silver furnace ash in water until evenly blended. Insert the glutinous rice into the ash mixture. Prick the mole with a needle, then apply the rice grain to the spot, allowing it to fall off naturally.
Another method: Crush seven grains of glutinous rice, mix them evenly with calcined alum (Duanshi). Prick the mole and apply the paste; the mole will fall off immediately.
Yet another method: Take half a cup of oak charcoal ash, mix with water to a consistency that is neither too thick nor too thin, and press firmly by hand. Place several grains of glutinous rice into the ash and press firmly again. Cover with a bowl placed upside down on the ground and do not move it. Wait until the next morning when a white, syrup-like fluid flows from the ash. Collect this fluid in a small cup, determine the size of the mole, and apply accordingly. Allow it to fall off naturally.
Yet another method: On the day of the Summer Solstice or Winter Solstice, grind fermented alkali together with calcined alum (Duanshi) until uniform, add water to make a liquid paste, and apply to the spot; the mole will fall off naturally.
Yet another method: Mix a small amount of White Precipitate Powder (Baijiang Dan) with water, apply to the spot; the mole will fall off naturally.
Shen Douyuan stated: "Face Furuncle" (Lian Fa) belongs to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, which is characterized by abundant Qi and scarce Blood. If the sore appears at Sibai (Ex-HN4) located one cun below the eye, directly opposite the pupil, or Juliao (ST3) located 0.8 cun lateral to the nose, directly opposite the pupil, and presents with a color resembling grapes, gradually enlarging shape, or formation of mother-and-child sores, death may occur within eight days. If it occurs on the left side, double the dosage of Angelica Sinensis (Danggui) in the internal support formula; if on the right side, triple the dosage. This is the subtlety of the treatment (from *Qixuan*).
Zhou Wencai stated: When Qi and Blood stagnate upward and accumulate in the Spleen Meridian, toxicity erupts on the face, named Facial Toxicity (Mian Du) (from *Jiyan*).
Dou Hanqing stated: Facial toxic eruptions often arise from excessive sexual activity, allowing pathogenic wind to invade the meridians due to deficiency, leading to weakness in the Yangming Meridian and eruption on the face. Alternatively, boils or scrofula appear on the face. The patient seeks rapid cure, but incompetent physicians may apply poisonous drugs, moxibustion, or needle-knife incisions. They may also violate taboos regarding 'Kaoshen' (a spiritual concept related to bodily conduct) and bad habits, engage in sexual activity after the lesion breaks without abstinence, be exposed to violent winds, frost, snow, cold dew, or take minerals and herbs that are toxic and mutually antagonistic. Consequently, the condition worsens daily. It must be understood that the face is the head of all Yang meridians. Moxibustion, knife surgery, and poisonous applications are prohibited. Moreover, the organs of hearing, sight, smell, and taste are concentrated in one place, unlike the limbs. Without careful preservation, life cannot be saved. Why? The face is Yang; fire qi entering it steams and cooks the muscles; needle-knife injury damages the meridians; poisonous application violently peels the skin and flesh. These complications lead to further harm. Subsequently, wind pathogens invade, causing flaccid swelling of the head and face, swelling of eyes and nose, progressive rotting of the affected area with a foul odor, decline of the Spleen and Stomach, alternating chills and fever, and extreme pain, which is hard to describe fully. If there are five favorable signs (Wu Shan) and no seven unfavorable signs (Qi E), apply cooling and detoxifying external medicines, internally administer internal support formulas containing Ginseng (Renshen) and Atractylodes Macrocephala (Baizhu), and combine with Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) and Curcuma Aromatica (Yujin) Powder to extract accumulated toxins. Only then can life be preserved; otherwise, survival is difficult (from *Quan Shu*).
Kui Guang stated: Facial carbuncles generally belong to stagnation patterns. One must prevent internal invasion of toxins and should use Bi Dan. (Recorded in the Throat Section.) Combine with decoction medicine and apply San Huang San externally.
