Form honey pills the size of Torreya seeds. Take 5 to 7 qian on an empty stomach with salted water, starting from 2 qian, gradually increasing to 4 qian, to avoid aggravating fire. If this prescription does not achieve complete efficacy, taking Shiquan Dabu Tang (or Wan) at night is also acceptable. This formula is used under the concern that Qi fails to move Blood, or due to Blood deficiency combined with Spleen deficiency, thus employing comprehensive tonification.
For epidemic eye diseases (Shixing Bing Mu), young people are suitable for taking cold-natured medicines. However, after middle age, when Qi and Blood are not robust, excessive use of cold medicines will cause the Shen Guang (Spiritual Light/Vision) to gradually diminish and vision to become blurred after the eye disease subsides.
This is because cold medicines damage the Stomach, preventing Jing Qi (Essence Qi) from ascending. Only Zuixian Tang, which combines tonification and purgation, is suitable for both the old and young, ensuring no lifelong risk of blurred vision.
Zuixian Tang (Treats epidemic eye diseases, as well as sudden onset of redness, swelling, and severe pain, even involving the cornea.)

Take one bowl of pure yellow wine and one bowl of water, decoct until one bowl remains, add 0.07 li of salt, mix well, and take warm. For those who can drink alcohol, consuming two or three more cups of wine can accelerate blood circulation and lead to rapid recovery.
According to seasonal patterns, there are differences between Heat excess, Wind excess, and combined Wind-Heat excess, which must be distinguished.
In cases of Heat excess, symptoms include fiery congestion, high fever, dizziness and pain of the head and eyes, rising heat sensation, scorched mouth/tongue/lips, sore throat, mental restlessness, excessive thirst, dark and scanty urine, and constipation. Such is the presentation of Heat excess.
In cases of Wind excess, symptoms include headache, nasal congestion, swelling, runny nose, tearing, heaviness of the vertex, soreness and pain of the brow bones, and eyelids opening difficulties resembling clouds, silk threads, star scales, or snail covers obscuring vision. Such is the presentation of Wind excess.
In cases of combined Wind-Heat excess, symptoms include wind-toxin attacking upwards, sudden redness of the eyes, swelling and pain making it difficult to open the eyes, gritty sensation, and profuse discharge of pus and tears. Such is the presentation of combined Wind-Heat excess.
These three syndromes are largely similar but have minor differences, and their medication can easily be confused. One must analyze them clearly before prescribing. If Heat excess, first clear Fire; if Wind excess, first dispel Wind; if combined Wind-Heat excess, dispel Wind and clear Heat simultaneously. In this way, turbid Yin Qi will descend completely, and clear Yang Qi will recover completely, restoring the state as if one were healthy.
Ocular diseases in the world that persist without healing, or recur after healing, are all due to initial medication errors, leading to organ stagnation, rising turbid Qi, and displacement of clear Yang.
After one year, vision becomes dim; after two years, red filaments appear; after three years, nebulae and cataracts grow; extending to five or seven years, blindness occurs. Is it not known that all this stems from initial medication errors!
For Heat excess, first administer Xixin San, followed by Xiere Huanglian Tang.
