味甘微温。主女崩中漏下，赤白沃，补脾疏肝。补虚温中，止血。滋养血脉。头∶
主杀鬼，鸡得清肃之气而头为之会，故能除鬼邪。东门上者尤良。东门上者，东门上所磔鸡
头，取阳方之生气也。 裹黄皮∶微寒，主泄利。鸡食沙石亦能消化，故治食积不化之泄
利。屎白∶主消渴，鸡善食而不善饮，其肠胃不能容水，故主消渴。伤寒寒热。治伤寒有食
邪之寒热。
凡血肉之物，鲜属金者，惟鸡于十二支属酉，而身轻能飞，其声嘹亮，于五音属商，乃
得金气之清虚者也。五脏之气，木能疏土，金能疏木，鸡属金，故能疏达肝气。本血肉之物，
故又能不克伐而调养肝血也。
石蜜，野蜂于崖间石隙中采花所作也，疑古时未有养蜂之法，则以崖蜜为上，而土木
中之蜜不用。今人养蜂收蜜其法最良，功同石蜜也。味甘平。主心腹邪气，养胃和中。诸惊
痫，定心平肝。安五脏诸不足，益气补中，百花之精，脏腑经络皆受益也。止痛，甘能缓
痛。解毒，香能辟秽恶之毒。除众病，诸花之性俱全。和百药。诸花之性俱全。久服，强志
轻身，不饥，不老。精神充足故也。
蜜者，采百花之精华而成者也。天地春和之气，皆发于草木，草木之和气，皆发于花。
花之
精英，酿而为蜜，和合众性则不偏，要去糟粕则不滞。甘以养中，香以理气，真养生之上品
也。但其性极和平，于治疾则无速效耳。凡天地之生气，皆正气也。天地之死气，皆邪气也
。正则和平，邪则有毒。毒者，败正伤生之谓。蜜本百花之蕊，乃生气之所聚，生气旺，则
死气不能犯，此解毒之义也。
Taste is sweet, nature is slightly warm. It primarily treats women's metrorrhagia and leukorrhea (abnormal vaginal discharge), red and white discharge. It tonifies the Spleen and soothes the Liver. It tonifies deficiency, warms the Middle Jiao, stops bleeding, and nourishes the blood vessels.
Chicken Head: Primarily treats the expulsion of demonic influences. The chicken absorbs clear and肃 (solemn/clear) Qi, and the head is the convergence point for this Qi, thus it can dispel demonic evils. Those from the East Gate are particularly effective. "Those from the East Gate" refers to the heads of chickens slaughtered above the East Gate, utilizing the vital Qi of yang generation.
Inner Chicken Gizzard Lining (Jineijin): Nature is slightly cold. Primarily treats diarrhea and dysentery. Chickens can digest sand and stones, therefore it treats diarrhea caused by food stagnation and indigestion.
White Chicken Droppings (Jisibai): Primarily treats Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst syndrome). Chickens are good at eating but not at drinking; their gastrointestinal tract cannot hold large amounts of water, therefore it treats Wasting-Thirst. It also treats chills and fever associated with Shang Han (Cold Damage). This treats chills and fever in Shang Han cases complicated by food-pathogen stagnation.
Among all flesh-and-blood creatures, those belonging to Metal are rare. Only the chicken corresponds to You (Rooster) in the Twelve Earthly Branches, has a light body capable of flight, and produces a resonant cry corresponding to Shang (Metal) in the Five Tones. Thus, it possesses the clear and empty qualities of Metal Qi. In the theory of Zang-Fu Qi, Wood can unblock Earth, and Metal can unblock Wood. Since the chicken belongs to Metal, it can unblock and diffuse Liver Qi. Being a creature of flesh and blood, it can also nourish Liver Blood without causing damage or harsh purging.
Shi Mi (Rock Honey): Produced by wild bees collecting nectar from flowers in rock crevices on cliffs. It is suspected that in ancient times, when beekeeping methods did not exist, cliff honey was considered superior, while honey from wood or soil was not used. Today, the method of keeping bees to harvest honey is the best, and its efficacy is identical to Shi Mi. Taste is sweet, nature is neutral. It primarily treats evil Qi in the Heart and Abdomen, nourishes the Stomach, and harmonizes the Middle Jiao. It treats various types of Jing Xian (Startle Epilepsy), calms the Heart, and soothes the Liver. It stabilizes deficiencies in the Five Zang Organs, benefits Qi, and tonifies the Middle. It is the essence of hundreds of flowers; the Zang organs and meridians all benefit from it. It relieves pain, as sweetness can缓 (relax/soothe) pain. It detoxifies, as fragrance can repel toxic filth. It eliminates various diseases because it possesses the properties of all flowers. It harmonizes hundred herbs. Because it possesses the properties of all flowers. Long-term consumption strengthens willpower, makes the body light, prevents hunger, and delays aging. This is due to sufficient Spirit.
Honey is formed by gathering the essence of hundreds of flowers. The harmonious Qi of Heaven and Earth in Spring emanates from grass and trees; the harmonious Qi of grass and trees emanates from flowers. The elite essence of flowers is brewed into honey. It harmonizes diverse properties so as not to be biased, and removes dregs so as not to cause stagnation. Sweetness nourishes the Middle, fragrance regulates Qi. It is truly a supreme product for health preservation. However, its nature is extremely mild and peaceful, lacking rapid effects in treating diseases. All vital Qi of Heaven and Earth is Zheng Qi (Upright Qi). All dead Qi of Heaven and Earth is Xie Qi (Evil Qi). Upright implies peace and harmony; Evil implies toxicity. Toxicity refers to damaging upright Qi and harming life. Honey originates from the pistils of hundreds of flowers and is the gathering place of Vital Qi. When Vital Qi is prosperous, Dead Qi cannot invade. This is the meaning behind its detoxification property.
