Zhang Yin'an stated: This utilizes the meridians of bamboo to unblock the meridians of the human body. When the meridians in the human body are disharmonious, it leads to regurgitation accompanied by heat. If the meridians are disharmonious, there may be either cold or heat symptoms. If the blood that fills the skin, warms the flesh, and渗ates into the hair follicles does not circulate within the meridians, it will lead upward to hematemesis and downward to metrorrhagia. Bamboo shavings unblock the meridians and thus treat all these conditions.
