When women consume excessive amounts of cold and raw foods during menstruation or postpartum, it can cause blood closure and fever, because blood tends to stagnate upon contact with cold fluids. In the initial one or two months, symptoms include alternating chills and fever. The patient experiences five-palm heat, irritability, bitter taste in the mouth, dry tongue, and a greenish-yellow complexion. At this stage, the condition is relatively easy to treat. First, use Xiaoyao Yin (Rambling Powder) to resolve the chills and fever. Subsequently, use Zijin Wan (Purple Gold Pill) to gradually restore the Spleen and Stomach's ability to receive food. Once the Spleen and Stomach are robust, menstruation will naturally flow. If left untreated for years, the condition may evolve into bone-steaming tidal fever, occurring at Zi (11 PM - 1 AM) and Wu (11 AM - 1 PM) hours, accompanied by muscle emaciation and intractable diarrhea, in which case survival is unlikely. However, if treated according to the above formulas and the patient suddenly suffers from Qi collapse approaching death, emergency administration of 3 li of Opium (Yapian), mixed with Licorice decoction, can revive the patient immediately. This method has proven effective repeatedly.
