This type of ulceration takes damp-heat (Damp-Heat) as its root cause and wind-pathogen (Wind Pathogen) as its manifestation. If the pulse is floating and relaxed, accompanied by fever and stiffness/spasms, Modified Baidu San (Jiajian Baidu San) can be used to dissipate various pathogens. If the pulse is deep and solid, with constipation and difficult urination, Fangfeng Tongsheng San (Fangfeng Tongsheng San) can be used to unblock both the exterior and interior. Grinding the medicine into powder for external application is also effective.
External Application Formula: Huashi (Talcum), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) (2 qian each). Grind into fine powder. First, puncture the lesion with a gleditsia sinensis spine, then mix with indigo tinctoria paste (Dianqing) and apply.
Another Formula: Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) powder (1 liang), Haijinsha (Lygodii Spora) (0.5 liang). Grind into fine powder, mix with fresh well water, and apply to the affected area.
Simple Formula: Dianqing (Indigo Tinctoria Paste), Huashi (Talcum) powder, Qiuyin Ni (Earthworm Mound Soil), Jingdi Ni (Well Bottom Mud). Choose any one ingredient for application.
The *Neijing* states: "All pain, itching, and ulcerations belong to Heart Fire." Although this is also caused by accumulated heat-toxin in the five zang organs, combined with blood deficiency and wind-dampness. There are five types of scabies: dry, wet, insect, sand, and pus. Dry scabies presents with withered, dry, and itchy skin. Wet scabies presents with abundant damp-heat and exudate. Insect scabies is contagious, transmitted by insects. Sand scabies presents with minute lesions and severe itching. Pus scabies presents with swelling and pustules. Treatment should first involve administering herbs that induce sweating to dispel wind, cool the blood, resolve toxicity, and clear heat-toxin from the zang-fu organs, thereby removing the root cause; subsequently, use external applications. It is advisable to use Fangfeng Tongsheng San (see Stroke section), modifying by removing Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Kubaiji (Alumen), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), and adding Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), and Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) for decoction and ingestion.
