Finger tip carbuncle presents with redness, swelling, and pain; after pus discharges, it cracks open, resembling a snake's head, hence the name. This condition belongs to accumulated heat in the Pericardium Meridian of Hand-Jueyin. It is advisable to administer Huoming Yin (Life-Saving Decoction) added with Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix); or Huanglian Xiaodu Yin (Coptis Detoxification Decoction), Yushu Dan (Jade Pivot Pill), etc.
External application formula: Xionghuang (Realgar), Wugong (Scolopendra), Quanxie (Scorpio) (each 1 qian), ground into powder, sprinkled onto the sore. Apply oil, wrap with silk, keeping the area dry; if painful due to dryness, apply oil to moisten.
Redness and swelling on the palm, deviating to one side, is named "Chuanbian" (Penetrating Side), belonging to accumulated heat in the Pericardium Collateral Meridian of Hand-Jueyin. Initially, garlic moxibustion is suitable, accompanied by internal administration of Huoming Yin (Life-Saving Decoction) added with Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) and Jianghuang (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma). For robust individuals, consider sweating or purging methods based on exterior and interior conditions, followed by supporting the interior and tonifying. The general approach is similar with minor variations.
Swelling at the flexure of the hand. Treatment method is the same as above. Additionally, apply Yushu Dan (Jade Pivot Pill) mixed with a small amount of Chansu (Toad Venom) to the affected area.
Lesions occurring inside the fingernail are best treated by using cold-natured medicines to facilitate pus discharge. Since nails are the surplus of sinews, and sinews rely on blood for nourishment, blood heat and toxicity form and flow to the finger tips, causing redness, swelling, and suppuration, resembling Zhi Ju (Finger Carbuncle). However, without accumulated toxicity, it does not cause severe harm.
Treatment for Daizhi (Paronychia): Boil Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) to extract juice, add Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), and soak the affected finger while hot.
Another method: Boil Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) to make a concentrated decoction and soak.
Another method: Use Suanjiangshui (Acidic Fermented Rice Water) with salt, heat for soaking, cool down, and replace.
Another method: Steam Wumei (Mume Fructus) until soft, grind with vinegar, and soak.
Yingcang San (Dandelion and Xanthium Powder): Treats finger tip carbuncles and Tian She Tou (Snake Head Toxin).
Gongyingying (Taraxaci Herba) (resolves various toxins, highly effective. Grows by roadsides and field edges, opens yellow flowers like chrysanthemum), Cang'er Cao (Xanthii Herba), ground together into powder, taken with wine. Alternatively, boil thickly with rice vinegar and soak the affected area for efficacy. Or boil fresh Gongyingying (Taraxaci Herba) together with Jinyinhua Teng (Lonicerae Japonicae Caulis), taken with wine.
Another method: Fresh Gongyingying (Taraxaci Herba) crushed to extract juice, taken with wine. The dregs applied to the affected area.

Foot conditions belong to damp-heat in the Three Yang Meridians, or deficiency of essence and blood in the Three Yin Meridians. They present with slight redness and swelling, clear pus discharge, and are difficult to treat. If there is redness, swelling, pain, and pus discharge, it belongs to damp-heat and is easy to treat. If the color is dark, without swelling or pain, no pus discharge, accompanied by irritability, heat, thirst, and scanty, difficult urination, it is a ominous sign of exhaustion of Yin Qi.
Initially, garlic moxibustion is suitable, internal administration of Huoming Yin (Life-Saving Decoction), followed by interior-supporting herbs; then Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction), Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill). If the color is dark but painless, use Sangzhi (Mori Ramulus) moxibustion directly on the flesh, internal administration of Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten-Ingredient Great Tonification Decoction), Bawei Dihuang Wan (Eight-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill), etc.
