Danxi stated: Accumulation (Ji Ju) and mass formations (Zheng Jia) vary in type. "Accumulation" is the general term for stagnation and storage. Treatment should be differentiated based on whether the pathology is located centrally, on the left, or on the right. Any lump is a tangible entity; Qi cannot form tangible entities. These are merely phlegm (Tan), food retention (Shi Ji), and dead blood (Si Xue - stasis). Pathology in the center belongs to fluid retention (Tan Yin); on the right, it belongs to food retention; on the left, it belongs to dead blood (stasis). The general principle is to use salty substances to soften hardness, use reducing agents to削 (xiao - reduce/scrape away) firmness, and focus on moving Qi and resolving phlegm. Do not restrict oneself to any specific plaster; take two sheets of plaster, remove one, sprinkle five fen of Bai Xin powder (White Arsenic Powder) onto it (for children... if abdominal distension and stuffiness occur after application, it indicates the痞 accumulation (Pi Ji) is about to dissipate. Decoct: Zhi Qiao (Bitter Orange Fruit) 8 fen, Da Fu Pi (Areca Peel, washed with salt water) 1 qian, Su Geng (Perilla Stem) 8 fen, Hou Po (Magnolia Bark) 1.2 qian, Qing Pi (Green Tangerine Peel) 1 qian, E Zhu (Curcuma Zedoaria Rhizome) 8 fen, Shan Zha (Hawthorn Fruit) 1 qian, Wu Yao (Lindera Root) 6 fen, Xiang Fu (Cyperus Rhizome) 1.5 qian, Suo Sha (Amomum Villosum Fruit) 5 fen, Guang Mu Xiang (Costus Root) 3 fen. Decoct in water and take on an empty stomach. Self-healing occurs in three to four doses. Alternatively, use fresh goose blood, pour boiling good wine over it while hot, and drink as much as possible. Depending on the chronicity and severity of the condition, the accumulation will naturally dissolve into intangibility; for deep-seated disease, repeat several times. Alternatively, use Song Xiang (Rosin) 4 liang (dried by rainwater decoction), Bi Ma Zi Rou (Castor Bean Flesh) 2 liang (pounded), Pi Xiao (Mirabilite) 5 qian. Pound together into a plaster, spread on cloth, and apply according to the size of the pi mass. Add She Xiang (Musk) 2 li. When the pi mass disappears, the plaster falls off naturally. Alternatively, use Da Hong Feng Xian Hua (Red Balsam Apple Flower) 12 flowers, Du Lang Suan (Single-head Garlic) 1 clove, Xiong Huang (Realgar) 2 fen. Pound together. Make a plaster with Qing Bu (Blue Cloth) and apply across the saddle area (perineum/lower abdomen), removing it shortly after. Another formula uses Nan Xing (Arisaema Rhizome) and Du Lang Suan each 1 clove, Lei Wan (Polyporus Umbellatus) half... This formula is miraculous and its effects cannot be fully described.) Accumulation: Mai Ya (Sprouted Barley Seed), Qu Mai Sui (Shepherd's Purse Spike), Gan Cao (Licorice Root) each 5 qian; Chen Xiang (Agarwood), Shen Qu (Medicated Leaven) each 2.5 qian; Mu Xiang (Aucklandia Root) 1.5 qian; Da Huang (Rhubarb Root and Rhizome) 2 liang. For males, decoct Dan Zhu Ye (Lophatherum Leaf) and Gan Cao in water, mix with wine, and take. For females, decoctor Hong Hua (Safflower), Deng Xin Cao (Juncus Medulla), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis Root) in water, mix with wine, and take.
