(Attached: Wei Syndrome [Flaccidity Syndrome], Jaw Dislocation)
Tongfeng (Gouty Pain), also known as Baihu Lijie Feng (White Tiger Joint-Traveling Wind), refers to wandering pain throughout the bone joints of the entire body. This is caused by blood and qi, wind-dampness, phlegm-fire, all leading to pain. It may result from labor combined with cold-water exposure; or drinking alcohol, getting drunk, and lying in the wind to cool off; or sleeping in damp places; or sweat moistening clothes steaming the body, forming Tongfeng. Lesions above are mostly due to wind, while those below are mostly due to dampness. Treatment should employ methods to invigorate blood, disperse wind, resolve phlegm, and remove dampness. Use Qianghuo Tang (Notopterygium Decoction) with modifications. In treating Tongfeng, Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), and Jiu Qin (Scutellariae Radix prepared with wine) are three miraculous herbs for dispersing wind and drying dampness.
For all cases of Tongfeng with limb joint pain, pain belongs to fire, and swelling belongs to dampness. Meat should not be eaten. Meat is yang, and fire can assist fire; eating it leads to enuresis and internal痞块 (masses). Even fried hot foods, fish, and noodles must be strictly avoided. Therefore, people who consume rich and greasy foods often eat fried, roasted, and alcoholic hot foods that steam the zang-fu organs, so they suffer most from Tongfeng and malignant carbuncles. Fat people mostly have damp-phlegm, while thin people mostly have phlegm-fire.

Wei Syndrome (Flaccidity Syndrome) (Absolutely do not treat as wind, nor mistakenly use hot/dry wind-dispersing drugs. Generally, non-painful conditions are Wei [Flaccidity], belonging to deficiency; painful conditions are Bi [Obstruction], belonging to excess. The syndromes are distinct. Wei disease arises from lung heat, due to scant blood and qi, with deficient fire overpowering Lung Metal. Lung leaves become dry and withered, Zongjin [Major Sinews] are not moistened. Since Metal cannot generate Water, Liver Wood attacks Spleen Earth. Spleen Earth is injured, causing bone flaccidity and sinew laxity, limbs difficult to lift, unable to flex and extend, resembling paralysis. Must take this formula for a long time.)

The patient sits upright. Let someone support the lower jaw with both hands, push upwards towards the back of the head to reconnect the joints. Then use a silk strip to bind the chin to the neck. Must avoid wind, continuously take decoctions.
