If the blood heat is purple and dark, firm and coagulated, and toxic pathogens flow into the Kidney and Stomach, sores (Gan) will grow in the mouth, and the gums will rot. In severe cases, it may lead to cheek perforation and tooth loss, gradually invading the throat. This disease is called "Zou Ma Gan" (Running Horse Gangrene), which is the most malignant condition. It is appropriate to use Ren Dong Jie Du San (Honeysuckle Detoxification Decoction) with modifications for internal administration, and apply Xiao Gan San (Sores Resolving Powder) externally.

The *Classic* states: When toxic pathogens flow to the head and neck, the head is the summit of all Yang meridians. If the toxic pathogens enter the Yang convergence points causing ulceration and maggot infestation, especially during hot summer days when the odor is unbearable, one should urgently treat with Qing Liang Gong Du Tang (Cooling and Detoxifying Decoction) externally, and wash the area with Jin Yin Hua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos) decoction. Additionally, apply Jin Gai San (Golden Cover Powder), which is made by drying cow dung, grinding it into powder, adding a small amount of Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum) and Qing Dai (Indigo Naturalis), mixing them well, and sprinkling the mixture on the lesion; then the disease will heal.
