Almond Decoction (Xingren Jian)
One jin of Almonds (remove skin and tips, pound, and cook into a paste-like consistency), five he of White Honey, five he of Butter Oil (made by boiling cow's milk), three he of Fresh Ginger Juice.
Take the above four ingredients, add three sheng of water, put in the almond paste, boil and stir until the volume is reduced by half, add ginger juice and boil until it resembles thin syrup, then add butter and honey and boil until it resembles thick syrup. Take one spoonful each time.
Xingren Jian is a moistening agent. It treats dry cough with qi rebellion and hoarseness due to lung wasting (Fei Wei), caused by cold invading the lungs after labor-induced exterior deficiency. Combined with other slippery/moistening substances, it does not cause intestinal diarrhea.
Guizhi Tang Variation
Five qian of Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Sheng Ganjiang (Raw Dried Ginger), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome), Chifuling (Poria with Red Core), Zhi Gancao (Honey-fried Licorice Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), each one liang.
Grind all into powder. Take three qian each time, decoct with one zhan of water until reduced to eight fen, take warm, discard dregs, and take again at night.
When Yangming disease occurs, Shaoyin presents with cough and diarrhea, Sanjiao (Triple Burner) function is obstructed, presenting with upper cough and lower diarrhea, Heart Fire is restless, pulsation feels like pulling (che). This clearly indicates cough and diarrhea belonging to Sanjiao obstruction.

Xiaoshi Fanci San (Niter and Alum Powder)
Equal parts of Xiaoshi (Niter, specifically the precipitate of Mangxiao/Natrii Sulfas, using the dense sediment as standard) and Fanshi (Alumen, calcined).
Grind the two ingredients into a powder. Mix with barley porridge juice and take one fangcun bi (a measure roughly the size of a square inch cube) per dose, three times daily. The pathogen will be expelled through stool and urine; yellow urine and black stool indicate the expected therapeutic effect.
Xiaoshi Fanci San is a potent/harsh agent. For female labor jaundice (Nulao Hei Dan) accompanied by abdominal fullness, it is a critical/deadly condition. Reading Zhang Zhongjing's original text, one must urgently purge blood stasis from the Lower Jiao to potentially reverse the situation.

The "Jinkui Yaolue" mentions another type of black jaundice from wine jaundice (Jiu Dan), which is due to damp-heat stagnation causing Ying Blood (Nutritive Blood) to become corrupt and exhausted in color; this is not treatable with Xiaoshi San.
Zhugao (Pig Fat) half jin, Luankou (Tangle Hair, about the size of a chicken egg, washed clean) three pieces.
Boil the two ingredients together in the fat. When the hair dissolves, the medicine is ready. Divide into two doses. The disease will exit via urination.
The "Jinkui Yaolue" states: For various types of jaundice, Zhugao Fa Jian (Pig Fat and Hair Decoction) is the primary treatment. Shizhen (Li Shizhen) explains that "gao" refers to melting/fat. The "Rituals of Zhou - Neize" states: To melt it, use water to moisten and then boil.
