Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) one jin (crushed, wrapped in cotton cloth), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) six liang, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang (honey-fried), Jingmi (Oryza Sativa) six he.
Take the above four ingredients, boil with ten dou of water until the rice is cooked and the decoction is ready, strain the dregs, take one sheng warm each time, three times a day.
Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) treats heat in both the exterior and interior of the Yangming channel. It stands in opposition to Tiaowei Chengqi Tang (Regulate the Stomach and Purge the Lower Decoction); Tiaowei Chengqi Tang guides out the pathogenic heat from the Yangming fu-organs, while Baihu Tang clears the heat from the Yangming [channel]... Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) one jin (crushed, wrapped in cotton cloth), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) six liang, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang (honey-fried), Jingmi (Oryza Sativa) six he, Renshen (Panacis Ginseng Radix) three liang.
Take the above five ingredients, boil with ten dou of water until the rice is cooked and the decoction is ready, strain the dregs, take one sheng warm each time, three times a day.
Why use Baihu Jia Renshen Tang (White Tiger Decoction plus Ginseng) when Yangming heat disease transforms into dryness? Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) is pungent and cold, capable only of dispersing exterior heat; Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) is sweet and bitter, capable only of descending interior heat... Zhuye (Bambusae Folium) two handfuls, Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) one jin, Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix) one sheng (heart removed), Renshen (Panacis Ginseng Radix) three liang, Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) half sheng (washed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang (honey-fried), Jingmi (Oryza Sativa)... [Text incomplete].
Take the above seven ingredients, boil with ten dou of water to obtain six sheng, strain the dregs, add Jingmi (Oryza Sativa), boil until the rice is cooked and the decoction is ready, strain out the rice, take one sheng warm each time, three times a day.
Zhuyegash Tang (Bamboo Leaf and Gypsum Decoction) acts on both the hand and foot channels without violating principles because the Stomach resides in the middle jiao, distributing fluids to various zang-organs; it tonifies the Stomach and drains the Lung... [Text incomplete].
Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) eight liang, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) three liang, Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) three liang.
Take the above four ingredients, boil with eight sheng of water, first boil Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) reducing the volume by two sheng, then add the other herbs, boil to obtain two sheng, strain the dregs, divide into two warm doses... [Text incomplete].
This formula is a variation of Xiexin Tang (Drain the Epigastrium Decoction), treating exterior cold and interior heat. Its significance lies in Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) and Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) rectifying the interior heat. Although Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) is the sovereign herb and is boiled first, this is merely... [Text incomplete].
Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) fifteen pieces (broken), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) one liang (honey-fried), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) two liang.
Take the above three ingredients, boil with four sheng of water to obtain one and a half sheng, strain the dregs, divide into two warm doses.
Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Bapi (Huangbai/Phellodendri Cortex) are exterior-releasing agents. Using cold to overcome heat and bitterness to dry dampness has already grasped the essence of treating jaundice. The mild use of Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) is because jaundice must internally combine... [Text incomplete], causing... to be in the exterior.
