The years dominated by Earth Qi are Jia years. The years dominated by Water Qi are Bing years. The years dominated by Fire Qi are Wu years. The years dominated by Metal Qi are Geng years. The years dominated by Wood Qi are Ren years.
The years dominated by Water Qi are Xin years. The years dominated by Fire Qi are Gui years. The years dominated by Earth Qi are Ji years. The years dominated by Metal Qi are Yi years. The years dominated by Wood Qi are Ding years.
Tianfu (Heavenly Match, referring to the condition where the Yearly Movement [Sui Yun] shares the same Five Elements attribute as the Si Tian Qi): For example, in a Bing Xu year, the Heavenly Stem Bing and Xin transform into Water Movement. The Earthly Branches Chen and Xu correspond to Taiyang Cold Water as the Si Tian Qi (Qi ruling the upper half of the year). Since the Si Tian Qi is Water and coincides with the Water Movement, it is called Tianfu.

Suihui (Yearly Meeting, referring to the condition where the Central Movement [Zhong Yun] shares the same Qi transformation nature as the Earthly Branch of the year): This means the Central Movement and the Earthly Branch possess identical Qi characteristics. For instance, Wood Movement meeting Mao year (Mao belongs to Wood), Fire Movement meeting Wu year (Wu belongs to Fire), etc., totaling eight years.
Apart from these eight years, there are four additional years: Ren Yin and Ren Shen years both belong to Wood; Geng Yin and Geng Shen years both belong to Metal; these are two Yang years. Gui Si and Gui Hai years both belong to Fire; Xin Hai and Xin Si years both belong to Water; these are two Yin years. In these years, the Movement also meets with the Year Branch, but they are not termed Suihui because they do not meet the criteria for the "central meeting of the four years." Excluding the two Yang years, the remaining two Yin years, Gui Si and Xin Hai, although not named Suihui, still have their Upper and Lower Five Elements assisting each other, making them Pingqi years (Years of Balanced Qi). In such years, the pulse responses of all things must align perfectly with the seasons, without any premature or delayed deviations.
Suihui refers to the convergence of the Movement and the Year Branch. For example, when Jia and Ji transform into Earth Movement, and one encounters Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei years, it is Suihui. The rest can be deduced similarly.

Tongtianfu (Same Heavenly Match) and Tongsuihui (Same Yearly Meeting): This refers to the condition where the Central Movement coincides with the Qi transformation of the Zai Quan Qi (Qi ruling the lower half of the year). A Yang year is called Tongtianfu, and a Yin year is called Tongsuihui. For example, in a Jia Chen year, with Yang Earth Movement and Taiyin Damp Earth as Zai Quan Qi, it is Tongtianfu; in a Gui Mao year, with Yin Fire Movement and Shaoyin Ministerial Fire as Zai Quan Qi, it is Tongsuihui; totaling twelve years.
When an excess (Taiguo) Movement coincides with the Earthly Qi (Zai Quan Qi), it is called Tongtianfu. For example, in Geng Zi and Geng Wu years, the Movement corresponds to Yangming Dryness Metal.
When a deficiency (Bujie) Movement coincides with the Earthly Qi (Zai Quan Qi), it is called Tongsuihui. For example, in Xin Chou and Xin Wei years, the Movement corresponds to Taiyang Cold Water.
Shunhua (Smooth Transformation, referring to the condition where the Heaven Qi generates the Movement): For example, in a Jia Zi year, Jia and Ji transform into Earth Movement. The Zi and Wu years correspond to Shaoyin Ministerial Fire as Si Tian Qi. The Fire Qi from above generates the Earth Movement below. The rest can be deduced similarly.
