The complexion presenting as pale yellowish-white indicates disharmony of the Stomach (Wei). Pingwei San (Calm the Stomach Powder) may be used for anorexia and refusal to nurse; Tiaozhong Wan (Regulate the Middle Pill) for abdominal pain; and Baizhu San (Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder) for thirst.
Gua Di San (Melon Seed Powder): Indicated for sudden onset of chest fullness and hardness in children, accompanied by heat in the palms and soles, progressing to Jaundice (Huangdan). If not treated urgently, it can be fatal.
Ingredients: Gua Di (Thladianthae Fructus) 7 pieces, Chi Xiao Dou (Vigna umbellata Seed) 7 grains, Shu Mi (Sorghum Vulgare Grain) 7 grains.
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Blow one "yi" (a small ancient unit of measurement) amount of powder into each nostril. This induces the discharge of yellow fluid. After all the powder is used, take the remainder mixed with water orally. Recovery occurs if yellow fluid is vomited.
Alternative Prescription: Gua Di (Thladianthae Fructus) 1 liang, Chi Xiao Dou (Vigna umbellata Seed) 4 liang (ground into powder). Take 1 qian per dose, mixed with warm water. Lie down immediately after ingestion. The emergence of clear yellow juice upon vomiting indicates efficacy. This is contraindicated for patients with deficiency.

She Dan (Tongue Jaundice): Characterized by thirst and frequent defecation; treat with Zhong Ru (Gypsum Fibrosum).
Rou Dan (Flesh Jaundice): Characterized by white urine; treat with Ning Shui Shi (Halloysitum Rubrum).

The above eleven herbs are taken in equal proportions. Increase the dosage by half according to the affected organ. Pound and sieve into a powder. Administer 5 fen bi (a small spoon measure) with drink, three times daily, gradually increasing to 1 fang cun bi (one square-inch spoon measure). For small children, adjust the dose accordingly.

Chi Ling San (Red Poria Powder) from *Qianjin Yi*: Mainly indicated for Black Jaundice where the skin and stool are black. Applicable to both adults and children.
