Niao Yuanfang stated: When children with dysentery pass stool resembling paste and blood, this is termed Red Dysentery (Chi Li). It occurs because the intestines are extremely deficient, causing the intestinal mucosa/fat and blood to be discharged together. *Shenghui Fang* posits that pediatric bloody dysentery arises from heat-toxin damaging the blood vessels, allowing blood to enter the Large Intestine. Blood normally circulates through the meridians with Qi and flows through the Zang-Fu organs without stagnation; however, if invaded by toxic heat while the intestines are weak, blood seeps into the intestines, resulting in bloody dysentery. *Baojian* notes that when a child's intestines have heat, they will pass fresh red blood in their stool, similar to Intestinal Wind (Chang Feng). *Waitai Miyao · Guangji Fang* records a formula for treating pediatric heat-toxin bloody dysentery.
