Treatment for wounds caused by the urine of *Forficula auricularia* (earwig): The urine causes sores. Initially resembling millet grains, they gradually enlarge to the size of beans, looking like blisters from a burn, with severe pain. For such cases, quickly apply fine powder of Caocha (tea leaves) mixed with raw sesame oil to the sore; the pain stops immediately, which is excellent. (Another prescription: Apply juice extracted from crushed pig fat; Caocha refers to tea leaves.) For two-point earwig sores, crush lily bulbs and mix with a small amount of salt, then apply to the affected area for efficacy.
[Qianjia Midian] If the urine of an earwig touches a person, it causes sores that accumulate like millet grains. The pain resembles stings from venomous insects, accompanied by aversion to cold and high fever. Apply ground rhinoceros horn juice to the site for cure.
[Shiyi Fang] Earwigs are also known as "eight-legged insects." They hide in walls and spray urine on people, causing body-wide sores similar to scalds or burns. Burn feathers from black chickens to ash, mix with egg white, and apply. For infants bitten by earwigs, if the wound encircles the abdomen, it can be fatal; apply crushed pear leaves to the site.
[Shiliao Bencao] Treatment for earwig urine sores: Use three sheng of salt and one dou of water, boil down to six sheng. Soak cotton cloth in the decoction and immerse/cover the sore.
Xionghuang Xiaodu Gao (Antimony Disinfectant Paste, from *Baojian*): Treats unbearable pain from scorpion stings.
Ingredients: Xionghuang (Realgar), Xinshi (Arsenolite) (each 0.5 liang), Badou (Croton Seed) (3 qian), Baifan (Alum) (raw, 1 liang).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Melt 0.5 liang of yellow beeswax, mix with the powder evenly, and form into pellets the size of a jujube. To use, hold the pellet over a lamp flame until melted, then drip onto the sting site; pain ceases immediately.
[Jiegu] Yishang San: Treats pain from scorpion stings.
Ingredients: Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) (1 zi dose, raw, ground to fine powder), Xionghuang (Realgar) (1 zi dose, separately ground), Badou (Croton Seed) (one seed, peeled, ground to paste).
Grind these three together, mix uniformly, and apply to the affected area. To treat scorpion venom, melt alum and drip while hot onto the injury; this stops pain and expels toxin.
[Guangji Fang] For scorpion stings: Grind spiders to extract juice and apply to the site for recovery.
[Shanju Fang] For scorpion stings: Apply juice of Kushen (Sophora Root).
[Shiyi Fang] For scorpion stings: Grind fresh ginger on stone and apply. Another method: Mix Tian Nan Xing (Arisaema Rhizome) with rice vinegar and rub on the site; or chew Ginseng and apply the residue to seal the wound. Mix equal parts of Baifan (Alum) and Banxia (Pinellia Tuber), grind to powder, mix with vinegar, and apply as a patch; this stops pain and expels toxin. Another method: Place a slice of Congbai (Scallion White) 2 fen thick on the sting site, and perform moxibustion (3–5 moxa cones).
