治尿淋痛
The *Jingui Yaolue* states: In cases of Lin syndrome (a disease characterized by frequent, urgent, and painful urination with a sense of incomplete emptying), the urine resembles millet grains, the lower abdomen is tense and acute, and pain radiates to the umbilicus. The Fuyang pulse (pulse at the dorsum pedis, reflecting stomach Qi) is rapid, indicating heat in the stomach; this leads to quick digestion and increased appetite, hard stools, and frequent urination. Patients with chronic Lin should not be treated with diaphoresis (sweating methods); if sweating is induced, hematuria will inevitably occur. For those with difficult urination accompanied by water retention and severe thirst, the following pill is indicated.
Gualou Qumei Wan (Trichosanthes Root and Epimedium Pill)
Gualou Gen (Trichosanthis Radix, 2 liang), Fuling (Poria, 3 liang), Shuyu (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, i.e., Shan Yao, 3 liang), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 1 piece, processed), Qumai (Dianthi Herba, 1 liang).
The above five herbs are powdered, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of wax tree seeds. Take 3 pills with water three times daily; if ineffective, increase gradually to 7–8 pills per dose. Recovery is indicated by free urination and warmth in the abdomen.
For difficult urination, Puhui San is indicated. Huashi Baiyu San and Fuling Rongyan Tang are also indicated for this condition.
Puhui San
Puhui (Typhae Pollinis Pulvis, 1 liang 7 qian 5 fen), Huashi (Talcum, 3 fen).
The above two herbs are pounded into powder. Take one fangcun bi (square-inch measure) with water three times daily.
Huashi Baiyu San
Huashi (Talcum), Luafa (Hominis Pilus Carbonisatus, hair burned but retaining efficacy), Baiyu (Pteridis Massae, fern rhizome, each 5 qian).
The above three herbs are pounded into powder. Take half a qianbi with water three times daily.
Fuling Rongyan Tang
Fuling (Poria, 0.5 jin), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 liang), Rongyan (Natrii Chloridum Rubrum, rock salt, size of a bullet).
(The decoction method is omitted in the original text but implied.)
Wuling San (See Xiaodao chapter.)
[Re Lin / Heat-Type Lin]

Powder these herbs, mix with refined honey, and form pills the size of wax tree seeds. Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with a decoction of Mutong.

Shiwei San (from *Heji Jufang*) treats insufficient Kidney Qi, heat in the Bladder, obstructed urinary pathways, dribbling and incomplete voiding, scanty frequent urination, urgent pain in the umbilical and abdominal regions, periodic exacerbations triggered by fatigue, turbid urine resembling bean soup, or passage of sand and stones. All these conditions are treated by this formula. Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Huashi (Talcum), Kuizi (Abutilonis Semen), Qumai (Dianthi Herba, each 3 liang), Shiwei (Pteridis Folium, de-haired), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis, each 2 liang), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, radix removed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Wangbuliuxing (Vaccariae Semen, each 1 liang).

Yujin Huanglian Wan treats flaming Heart fire failing to descend and Kidney water failing to ascend, preventing the mutual nourishment of Water and Fire. Thus, fire flares upward while water flows downward as Lin. The Bladder is scorched by Heart fire, leading to heat accumulation in the bladder sac, causing strangury or complete retention, involuntary leakage, white turbidity like rice water, purulent Gao Lin, yellow juice-like urine, sand/stones, or paste-like discharge. These are all heat patterns treated by this medicine. Yujin (Curcumae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, each 1 liang), Hupo (Electroplachi Carapax et Plastrum, ground), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, wine-soaked), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, each 2 liang), Bai Fuling (Poria, 4 liang), Huashi (Talcum, 4 liang), Hei Qianniu ( Pharbitidis Semen Nigrum, fried, head powder only, 3 liang).
