To detoxify poisoned arrows and treat "female labor relapse" (recurrence of illness in women after recovery due to sexual intercourse). [Newly supplemented content, see Tao Hongjing.]
Chen Cangqi stated: Menstrual cloth (garments stained with menstrual blood) is indicated for profuse bleeding from metal wounds. Apply the heated cloth as a hot compress to the affected area. Burn the menstrual cloth into powder and apply it to wounds caused by tiger or wild wolf bites; take one fangcun bi (a traditional Chinese unit of volume/measure) of the powder mixed with wine orally, three times a day. It is indicated for arrowheads embedded in the abdomen. Mei Shi Fang: Treats men whose febrile diseases have resolved but relapsed due to sexual intercourse, resulting in sudden retraction of the testicles into the abdomen and severe abdominal colic threatening life. Burn the red-stained menstrual garments of women into ash, mix with cooked water, and administer one fangcun bi orally. Another prescription: Treats poisoning from being pierced by bone fragments while flaying a horse, causing agony. Apply menstrual blood to the wound, yielding immediate effect. Sun Simiao: Burn menstrual garments of women into powder and administer with wine. Another prescription: Treats infection where horse blood enters a wound; apply menstrual blood of women to the site. Bian Que stated: It treats Yin-Yang Yi Shanghan (a condition where symptoms of recovered typhoid fever are transmitted to a partner through intercourse). Burn... It is also effective for detoxifying poisoned arrows and treating female labor relapse. The ancient kingdom of Funan possessed a unique technique that made blades impervious to cuts; only applying menstrual blood to the blade would cause death to the wielder. This is because menstrual blood is considered impure and damages the Shen Qi (Spiritual Energy). Therefore, people avoid contact with it when preparing medicines. Since this is treated as a specific substance, it follows the precedent of feces and urine. [Newly supplemented content, see Tao Hongjing.]
Mixed with eagle droppings, it can also eliminate scars. [Newly supplemented content, see Tao Hongjing.]
Qianjin Fang: Removes facial nevi. Mix human semen with white eagle droppings, apply to the area; heals in three days. White honey may also be used. Zhouhou Fang: Treats tumors. Take one he (a traditional unit of volume) of human semen, half a he is acceptable. Store in a green bamboo tube, roast over fire, collect the condensed liquid/sweat in a vessel, and seal it tightly. Apply frequently to the tumor; it is effective. Another prescription: Treats scalds and burns, preventing... [Text fragment missing].
Take fine powder and place it in the eyes to remove nebulae (opacity of the cornea). [Newly supplemented content, see Chen Cangqi.]
Min Yuxi et al. note according to Ri Hua Zi: Human fingernails, nature neutral, promote childbirth.
Ge Hong treated cases of urinary retention due to holding urine (bladder torsion). He collected his own fingernails, burned them to ash, and administered with water. Another prescription: Treats female Lin syndrome (dysuria). Collect fingernails, burn to ash, and administer with water. It also treats hematuria.
Yanyi stated: Human fingernails treat epistaxis (nosebleed). Scrape finely; once the bleeding subsides slightly and clots are removed, insufflate the powder into the bleeding nostril for immediate relief. If specialized preparations are unavailable, collecting them from the public is very good. There are many methods and herbs for treating epistaxis, some effective and others not, so extensive collection is necessary for use on roads or in rural areas.
