Wind-heat pathogenic factors enter the stomach and intestines, causing acute diarrhea. If complicated by toxic factors, the excrement will be yellowish-red fluid mixed with pus and blood.
When heat-toxins are severe, they damage the stomach and intestines, resulting in the discharge of pus and blood resembling fish brains or rotten meat juice; this is due to the prevalence of warm-toxin qi.
If there is accumulated heat in the spleen and stomach, excessive sweating will deplete body fluids, causing dryness of the stomach and internal heat accumulation, leading to constipation.
After sweating, body fluids are depleted, and stagnant heat in the bladder transfers to the small intestine, resulting in urinary retention.
Heat pathogens attack the stomach and intestines; as toxic qi becomes prevalent and grain qi gradually declines, the "three parasites" become active and devour the five zang organs, causing sores in the lower body. In severe cases, the anus may rot.
This refers to a condition where, shortly after recovery from an illness, when body fluids have not yet recovered and qi and blood remain deficient, premature physical exertion generates new heat. This heat re-enters the meridians and collaterals, causing the disease to recur.
For those who have recently recovered from warm-toxin diseases, the spleen and stomach remain weak, and grain qi has not yet recovered. Consuming dog, pork, mutton, offal, blood, fatty fish, or greasy foods will inevitably cause severe diarrhea, which is incurable. Furthermore, one must avoid eating cakes, raw sliced fish (kuai), dates, chestnuts, and other hard-to-digest raw fruits. These undigested foods stagnate in the stomach and intestines, causing distension, firmness, and obstruction of both urination and defecation, leading to recurrent fever and disease. Not only dietary indiscretions, but also activities such as combing hair and bathing require caution.
The disease known as Yin-Yang Exchange occurs when a man or woman, having recently recovered from a warm disease but not yet fully restored, engages in sexual intercourse and contracts the illness. This is termed Yin-Yang Exchange. Specifically, if a man recovers and a woman engages in intercourse with him, contracting the disease, it is called Yang Exchange. If a woman recovers but is not fully restored, and a man engages in intercourse with her, contracting the disease, it is called Yin Exchange. No exchange occurs between two men or two women. It is called "Exchange" because yin and yang mutually resonate, and the toxin transfers to the other person, akin to swapping. The symptoms include heat rushing to the chest, heaviness of the head making it difficult to lift, excessive eye discharge, limb stiffness and cramping, abdominal pain, and curled hands and feet; these conditions lead to immediate death. Those who do not die immediately suffer from urgency in the lower abdomen, heat rushing to the chest, heavy head unwilling to lift, sensation of joints separating, slack and weak meridians, deficiency of qi and blood, exhaustion of bone marrow, mental confusion, faint breathing, diminishing strength, inability to move while bedridden, requiring assistance for daily activities, and some may linger for months before dying.
