《养生方·导引法》云∶两手拓两颊,手不动,搂肘使急,腰内亦然,住定。放两肘头

The Kidney governs yawning, and the Kidney is a Yin organ. Yang Qi governs ascending, while Yin Qi governs descending. When Yin accumulates in the lower part but Yang has not yet fully descended, Yang pulls upward and Yin pulls downward. The mutual traction of Yin and Yang leads to a struggle between the two Qi. If accompanied by Wind, yawning causes Wind to move; as Wind strikes against Qi, frequent yawning occurs.
Shizhen (Stiff Neck) refers to Wind pathogen invading the head and neck, located between the sinews. It occurs when Blood and Qi are deficient during sleep, coinciding with the activation of Wind pathogen.
Houbi (Sore Throat/Obstruction) refers to swelling, blockage, bi-syndrome pain within the throat, preventing the intake of water or fluids. The Yin and Yang Qi of humans originate from the Lung and circulate up and down along the throat. When Wind-toxin lodges in the throat, Qi stagnates and accumulates, generating heat, which causes throat swelling, blockage, and bi-pain.
A deep pulse indicates Yin, while a floating pulse indicates Yang. If the pulse at the Guan position on the right hand shows both Yin and Yang aspects as Excess, this is a sign of Houbi. This condition also causes high fever and aversion to cold. If untreated for seven to eight days, it may lead to death. Treatments involving decoctions, external applications, moxibustion, acupuncture, and stone therapy have separate specific formulas. Methods for tonification, nourishment, and guidance/exercise are attached below.
The *Yangsheng Fang · Daoyin Fa* states: Push both cheeks with hands without moving the hands themselves, pull elbows tightly inward, and do the same for the inner waist, holding the position. Then release elbow tips outward until the Qi in the elbows, arms, and waist dissipates completely; rise only when feeling extreme stuffiness. Repeat this cycle seven times to treat Houbi.
It also states: Extend one hand long with the palm facing up, grasp the chin with the other hand, and pull outward to the maximum extent simultaneously. Perform this fourteen times (two sets of seven). Do the same on the opposite side. Keep hands stationary, stretch laterally to the limit, and pull tightly fourteen times. This treats neck stiffness, headache with vertigo due to Wind, Houbi, and unilateral Wind caused by cold flow in the inner arm.
Ma Houbi (Horse Sore Throat) refers to Heat-toxin accumulating in the throat, causing swelling that extends to the cheeks with slight high fever, chest fullness and irritability, and frequent sighing or gasping.
Guzai (Grain Thorn) refers to short, hard, and rough awns in grain. Accidental ingestion can cause swelling and blockage in the throat. Currently, if Wind-Heat Qi stays in the throat and battles with Blood and Qi, it generates swelling and blockage similar to eating Guzai; thus, it is called "Guzai in the throat." If not treated urgently, it can be fatal.
Suddenly, Qi becomes knotted and blocked inside the throat, known in the world as Gouyan (Dog Throat). This is caused by Wind-Heat and presents similarly to Houbi. However, folklore suggests it results from accidentally swallowing dog hair. Another saying claims that treating this disease involves sharing a ball of rice with a dog to achieve recovery, hence the name Gouyan.
