The way of the physician lies in mental comprehension. The profound interest of medicine cannot be fully conveyed by words, yet mastering its essence allows one to treat all diseases. Patients gather from all directions. Scholars and officials even bestow a thousand pieces of gold to learn this art. My grandfather once said that the verses contain benefits and advantages. Medical skills are infinite and truly sufficient for nourishing life and health, far more than a minor supplement. The reason for insisting on non-transmission is actually a plan for the benefit of descendants. The master has long departed; I fear that unworthy successors may arise, forgetting righteousness for profit and lightly transmitting the art. Therefore, through oral transmission, specific medicines are prescribed for specific syndromes, claiming mastery as effortless as manipulating objects in the palm. Various formulas and their corresponding patient conditions are detailed below.
Hongxia Dan (Red Cloud Pill) (Song): Hongxia Dan consists of Xuejie (Dragon's Blood) and Muxiang (Aucklandia Root), combined with Yujin (Curcuma Longa Rhizome), Gujiao (Fossilized Bone), Ruxiang (Frankincense), and Moyao (Myrrh). Also included are Shizhi (Halloysitum Rubrum), Ziran Tong (Natural Copper), Gusuibu (Drynaria Rhizome), Ercha (Catechu), Bala (Beeswax), and Tubiechong (Eupolyphaga Steleophaga). Chenxiang (Agarwood) and Zhusha (Cinnabar) are used in equal parts. This was transmitted orally by the master, requiring precision and detail.
Wutong Wan (Five Passages Pill) (i.e., Qianjinzi / Spurge Seed): The patient must take Wutong Wan. When the intestines are unblocked, the illness is easily cured. Blood toxins flow away like water, thereby ensuring the safety of the five zang organs.
Taohua San (Peach Blossom Powder) (Hemostatic): Jiangjun (Da Huang / Rheum Palmatum Rhizome), Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark), and Duanshi (Calcined Halloysite) are mixed, along with Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) in one pot. Stir-fried until resembling the red-purple color of peach blossoms, it stops bleeding, removes injury, and cures the disease naturally.
Shensheng San (Divine Holy Powder) (Bone Setting): Haiya (possibly Sea Dog Kidney or specific herb), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root), Chifanjie (Chishao / Red Peony Root), Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome), Pipaye (Loquat Leaf), and Jiucai (Chinese Chive) are harmonized. Additionally, leaves resembling the face of Noble Consort (specific plant unclear, retained as description) are included. This medicine is divine and well-arranged.
An Sui San (Marrow Calming Powder): When marrow leaks from the body, it must be stabilized. Use Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome) and Baifu Zi (Aconitum Caraganifolium Seed). Remove the roots of Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root) and mix with Guolao (Gancao / Licorice Root). Process into a preparation similar to Xiangfu (Cyperus Rotundus Rhizome) in proportion.
Ruxiang Xuntong San (Frankincense Pain-Seeking Powder): Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh), and Muxiang (Aucklandia Root) are processed. Xuejie (Dragon's Blood), Chenxiang (Agarwood), and Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root) are used in larger quantities. Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome), and Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome) are added subsequently. Shexiang (Musk) and Guolao (Licorice Root) are not rejected. Mugua (Chaenomeles Fruit), Nonggui (Thick Cinnamon), Huixiang (Fennel), and Baishu Gui Lai (Baishu Danggui / Sichuan Angelica) have significant weight. How much is the efficacy of herbs from Bashu? Huaicao (Licorice) and Liangwu (Prepared Chuanwu and Caowu) form the Xuntong San. The patient takes this and recovers immediately.
Huoxue Zhutong San (Blood-Invigorating Pain-Stopping Powder): Do not disdain Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root) and Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome). Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome), Huixiang (Fennel), and Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root) are used together. Recently, Caowu (Prepared Aconitum Kusnezoffii Root) and Huaiwu (Prepared Aconitum Caraganifolium Root) can be obtained. Traveling far to Bashu roads can still be traversed. Mugua (Chaenomeles Fruit) and Guolao (Licorative Root) serve as companions. Duzhong (Eucommia Bark) and Caowu (Prepared Aconitum Kusnezoffii Root) can indeed attack the pathology. Invigorating blood while stopping pain is key; if tidal fever occurs, it helps dissipate wind.
Xiaofeng San (Wind-Dispersing Powder): Generally, tidal fever is suitable for dispersing wind first. Once wind is dispersed, the syndrome can be treated further. Guozhu (likely a typo or alias for Nanxing / Arisaema) and Nanxing (Arisaema Rhizome) combine with Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root). Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome), and Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome) are included. Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root) and Jiegeng (Platycodon Root) differ in name but are distinct. Guolao (Licorice Root) and Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) differ in taste. Ask how recovery is facilitated? It is because the spiritual medicine achieves miraculous effects.
Shengji San (Flesh-Generating Powder): Generates flesh, stops pain, and treats various injuries. Moyao (Myrrh), Tuoshen (Ren Shen / Ginseng variant), and Ruxiang (Frankincense) are used. Xuejie (Dragon's Blood) and Shizhi (Halloysitum Rubrum) combine with Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root). Pengsha (Borax), Longgu (Fossilized Bone), and Xionghuang (Realgar) are included. Zhusha (Cinnabar) is pure and clear among other ingredients. Xiangshe (Musk) adds fragrance to the formula. For whip marks or blade wounds, applying this externally brings health.
Xinxiang San (Pungent Fragrant Powder): Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Jingjie (Schizonepeta Spike), Kushen (Sophora Root), and Lian (Scutellaria or Coptis) are used. Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Mingfan (Alum), and Beizi (Galla Chinensis) are excellent. Guolao (Licorice Root), Huoxiang (Patchouli Herb), and Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome) are rich. Jinu (Artemisia Annua) and Chishao (Red Peony Root) come first. Yinhuajin (Honeysuckle Flower) and Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root) are boiled with Conggen (Scallion Root). Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root) and Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root) are boiled with Baiye (Cypress Leaf). Cang'erzi (Xanthium Fruit) and Feiyan (Flying Salt) enter the water together. Washing removes residual toxins, leading to recovery.
Tongdao San (Unblocking and Guiding Powder): Contains Dahuang (Rhubarb Rhizome) and Xiaoyao (Mirabilite). Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Houpo (Magnolia Bark), and Danggui Tou (Angelica Sinensis Root Tip) are included. Chenpi (Citrus Peel), Mutong (Akebia Stem), and Gancao (Licorice Root) are added. Honghua (Carthamus Flower) and Sumu (Sappan Wood) relieve human sorrow (stagnation).

This manuscript was originally copied by disciples from Uncle Qiwan's teachings. The second volume below was not given to disciples to copy, implying secret instructions unwilling to be lightly transmitted. Ultimately, what Uncle Qi occasionally used was mostly found in the formulas above the third volume. In summary, they were not unused. Key points, key points.
