Treat Shaoyin disease presenting with diarrhea, faint pulse, aversion to cold, and a curled-up posture.
Congbai (Scallion White, four stalks) Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, one tael) Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, raw, sliced, one piece). Use three sheng of water, decoct to obtain one sheng of liquid, remove the dregs, and divide into two warm doses. If the pulse emerges abruptly after ingestion, it indicates death; if the pulse continues slightly, it indicates survival. ("Abrupt emergence" is forced by the medicinal power; once the power fades, the vital qi remains severed. "Slight continuation" indicates the natural recovery of healthy qi, therefore...)
Treat Shaoyin disease with intractable diarrhea, cold extremities, absent pulse, dry heaving, and irritability.
Add Wuren (Human Urine, five he) and Zhudanzhi (Porcine Bile, one he) to the Bitong Tang, mix well, and administer.
Bitong Tang consists of Jiang (Ginger), Fu (Aconite), and Congbai (Scallion White). (This is Sini Tang minus Gancao, plus Congbai.) It is indicated for Shaoyin diarrhea with a faint pulse. (Shaoyin diarrhea with faint pulse, but... organ qi... rejection, thus... take it." Cold qi rejection)
Treat coldness of the hands and feet with a fine pulse nearly imperceptible; it is also effective for severe pain in the waist, thighs, legs, and feet caused by cold invading the Ying (Nutritive) collaterals.
Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Xixin (Asarum Root) (each three liang); Gancao (Licorice Root), Mutong (Akebia Stem) (each two liang); Dazao (Jujube Fruit, twenty-five pieces). Use eight sheng of water, decoct to obtain...)
The indications are the same as Danggui Sini Tang. If the patient has chronic cold within, this formula is appropriate.
Add Wuzhuyu (Evodia Fruit, two sheng) and Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger, half a jin) to Danggui Sini Tang. Use six sheng of water and six sheng of clear wine, decoct to obtain five sheng of liquid, remove the dregs, and divide into five warm doses.

Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, one tael) Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, raw, sliced, one piece). Use three sheng of water, decoct to obtain one sheng of liquid, remove the dregs, and administer in one dose. (Refer to Fuling Sini Tang for comparison.
Ganjiang Fuzi Tang is a Yang-returning agent; daytime irritability and nighttime peace indicate that Yin is also deficient. (Note: There are two types of Yang deficiency syndromes: those who favor Yang and those who fear Yang; generally Yin... must know not... after purgation... Fuzi... Yu Wei...)
