Treats phlegm-fluid retention in the epigastrium, distension and fullness in the chest and hypochondrium, vertigo, as well as after treatment with emesis or purgation for Cold Damage (Shanghan), presenting with rebellious fullness in the epigastrium, Qi rushing upward to the chest, a deep and tight pulse upon rising, and if sweating is induced, it disturbs the channels causing tremors and shaking of the body.
Fuling (Poria) (4 liang) Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) (each 3 liang) Gancao (Licorice Root), roasted (2 liang). Add 6 sheng of water, boil to obtain 3 sheng, divide into three warm doses. Linggui Zhugan Tang (Poria, Cinnamon Twig, Atractylodes, and Licorice Decoction) is a formula that eliminates fluid retention by strengthening the Spleen to facilitate Bladder Qi transformation. (When Bladder Qi transformation is sluggish, water accumulates; when the Spleen fails to transport fluids, fluids condense into retention. Baizhu, Gancao... chest and hypochondrium... should be treated with... should... then... Wang Jin-san said: "Linggui Zhugan Tang treats fluid retention in the Yang aspect, characterized by shortness of exhalation; Shenqi Wan (Kidney Qi Pill) treats fluid retention in the Yin aspect, characterized by shortness of inhalation. For exhalation comes from the Heart and Lung, while inhalation comes from the Kidney and Liver. Fuling enters the Foot-Taiyin Lung Meridian, Guizhi enters the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian; both are light and clear agents treating the Yang aspect; Dihuang (Rehmannia Root) enters the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian, Shanzhuyu (Cornus Fruit) enters the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian; both are heavy and turbid agents treating the Yin aspect. One condition, two formulas, surely there is a reason!") If mistaken sweating disturbs the channels causing body tremors, those with mild Yang deficiency can be protected by this.

(Liu Wansu's *Xuanming Lunfang*) Treats heatstroke combined with dampness, excessive drinking, headache, irritability and thirst, and urinary obstruction due to damp-heat.
Fuling (Poria) Zexie (Alisma Rhizome) (each 1 liang) Zhuling (Polyporus) Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) Rougui (Cinnamon Bark) (each 5 qian) Huashi (Talcum) (4 liang) Gancao (Licorice Root) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) Hanshuishi (Borax? Note: Usually refers to a specific mineral stone in this context, often translated as Cold Water Stone or similar local mineral) (each...)

(Zhang Zihe's *Rumen Shishen*) Treats latent summerheat causing irritability and thirst, desire to drink water, but vomiting immediately after ingestion, with a deficient pulse.
This is derived from Hejian's formula by removing Zhuling, reducing the "Three Stones" by half, and adding Renshen (Ginseng Root) 5 qian, Gegen (Puerariae Radix) 1 liang, Huoxiang (Agastache Herba) 5 qian, Muxiang (Vladimiriae Radix) 1 fen. Hejian's Guiling Ganlu Yin (Cassia, Poria, and Sweet Dew Drink) consists of Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) plus the Three Stones and Gancao. (This is exactly Wuling San added with Huashi, Shigao, Hanshuishi, and Gancao.) It is suitable for heatstroke with irritability and thirst, and one should master the methods of clearing heat and promoting diuresis to resolve dampness. (Wang Jin-san in *Gufang Xianzhu* says: "To eliminate summerheat, one must eliminate dampness and remove heat, hence using Wuling San to remove dampness and resolve heat. Once damp-heat is removed, it is as if sweet dew descends in early autumn, and summerheat dissipates secretly.") Reduce the Three Stones by half, remove Zhuling, add Renshen, Gegen, Huoxiang, and Muxiang; this is Zihe's Guiling Ganlu Yin. It is suitable for consumption in cases of deficient pulse and Water Rebellion (vomiting immediately after drinking water, termed "Water Rebellion"). For cholera with muscle cramps and irritability, benefiting Qi and eliminating turbidity brings no shame. (Cheng Fusheng says: "For vomiting and diarrhea leading to loss of body fluids, irritability, and thirst, the method should be to tonify the Spleen and Stomach, generate body fluids, raise the clear, and descend the turbid; this formula is most appropriate." Yu Jiayan in *Yimen Falv* says: "Hejian's Guiling Ganlu Yin uses Wuling San and the Three Stones to benefit the deficiency of the Stomach; Zihe's Guiling Ganlu Yin uses Renshen, Gegen, Gancao, Huoxiang, and Muxiang to benefit the deficiency of...")
