The upper margin of Naokong (GB12, Brain Empty) is Han'yan (GB5, Jaw Swallowing). The middle of Naokong (GB12) is called Xuanlu (GB6, Hanging Skull). Xuanli (GB5, Hanging Corner) is located at the lower margin of Naokong (GB12); Tianchong (GB9, Heavenly Surge) resides three cun above the ear. Shuaigu (GB8, Rate Valley) is one and a half cun directly above the ear apex; its exact position must be carefully examined. The cyan collateral vessels in the cranium fontanelle area and behind the ear originate from the middle posterior to the root of the ear, meeting upwards with the chicken-foot-shaped cyan collaterals. Wangu (GB12, Complete Bone) is four fen behind the mastoid process of the ear; Yifeng (SJ17, Wind Screen) is in the depression behind the earlobe.
Suliao (DU26, Plain White) is at the tip of the nasal bridge. Below the nose is Renzhong (Shuigou, DU26, Water Ditch). Duanduan (DU27, Meeting End) is above the lip tubercle when the mouth is open. Yinjiao (DU28, Gum Intersection) is sought inside the lip on the upper gum. Chengjiang (CV24, Chin Basin) is in the concave depression below the lower lip. Lianquan (CV23, Throat Spring) is located between the chin and the laryngeal prominence.
Canzhu (BL1, Gathered Bamboo) is the acupoint at the inner end of the eyebrow. Jingming (BL1, Bright Eyes) belongs to the medial canthus of the eye. Juliao (ST3, Giant Crevice) is eight fen lateral to the nose. Yingxiang (LI20, Welcome Fragrance) is recorded five fen lateral to the alar groove. Heli (LI19, Grain Hole) is located near the philtrum, approximately five fen away, at the same level.
Ten acupoints through three rows on the face are connected. Yangbai (GB14, Yang Palace) is one cun above the eyebrow. Chengqi (ST1, Receiving Tears) is taken seven fen below the eye. Sibai (ST2, Four Whites) is one cun below the eye. Dicang (ST4, Earth Granary) is four fen lateral to the corner of the mouth. Daying (ST5, Great Meeting) is in the depression anterior to the angle of the mandible.
Qucha (GV7, Bent Difference) is beside Benshen (GB13, Original Spirit) by one and a half cun. Touwei (ST8, Head Corner) measures one and a five cun distance from Benshen (GB13). Sizhukong (TE23, Silk Bamboo Hollow) is located beside the posterior edge of the eyebrow. Tongziliao (GB1, Child's Pupil Crevice) is detailed at five fen lateral to the outer canthus. Quanliao (SI18, Cheekbone Crevice) is taken at the lower margin of the cheekbone. The depression under the end of the zygomatic bone should be used for the acupoint.
(Two additional acupoints)
Shangguan (SJ19, Upper Gate), also known as Key Master (Kerenzhu), requires long retention of the needle when treating Xiaguan (ST7, Lower Gate). Shangguan (SJ19) is accessed by opening the mouth anterior to the ear; Xiaguan (ST7) is found by closing the mouth inferior to the ear. Qianmen (Note: Text likely refers to Tinggong or similar, literally "Front Door") is measured one and a half cun posterior to the eye.
There are twenty-six acupoints on the shoulder and arm. Jianjing (GB21, Shoulder Well) corresponds above Quepen (ST12, Clavicle Basin). Tianding (SI11, Heaven Tripod) is at the bony margin of the supraclavicular fossa. Jugu (SI1, Giant Bone) is in the two rows above the shoulder tip. Huizong (Note: Text incomplete, likely Jiangyu or similar) is at the anterior margin of the shoulder. Bingfeng (SI12, Holding Wind) is anterior to Tianshu (SI13). Jianzhongshu (SI14) is in the middle of Quhui (Note: Text unclear, possibly referring to scapular region) and Quyuan (BL13). Jianwaishu (BL14) is at the fold of the upper humerus margin; Jianzhongshu (SI15) connects through the lower margin of the humerus.
From Dazhui (DU14, Great Vertebra) above to the coccyx below, there are twenty-one vertebrae. Since ancient times, there has been a method of proportional measurement, using three cun of the patient's own body measurement to locate the Back-Shu points. Seven cun and eight fen are distributed among the upper seven vertebrae. Observing below the sixteenth vertebra (Text implies a specific landmark): the seventeenth to twentieth vertebrae have no acupoints. The twenty-first vertebra is named Yaoshu (DU19, Waist Shu). Below this is Changqiang (DU1, Long Strength); please seek them out one by one carefully. The interval of seven segments is approximately two fen long. The main principle is that the fourteenth vertebra is level with the umbilicus. One chi, two cun, one fen, four li is the measurement; the subsequent Miyu (Note: Likely a typo for a specific point or anatomical reference, literally "Secret House") should be considered carefully.
