The acupuncture and moxibustion secrets of Huangdi (Yellow Emperor) and Qibo are clearly stated in other classics. The three Yin and three Yang constitute twelve meridians, plus the two extraordinary vessels (Ren and Du), forming eight vessels. The annotations of *Lingguang Fu* are extremely profound and mysterious. [Text missing]. For treating Qi stagnation and upward congestion, select Zusanli (ST36); Tiantu (CV22) and Wanzhong (CV15) treat wheezing and phlegm. For heart pain with hand tremors, needle Shaohai (HT3); Shaoze (SI1) should remove cold below the heart. For spasms in both legs, seek Yinshi (ST8); heel pain is sought at Pucan (BL60); Chengshan (BL57) treats muscle cramps and nine types of hemorrhoids. Below the sole of the foot, find Yongquan (KI1); this method is worth a thousand gold and must not be transmitted lightly. This acupoint mostly treats women's diseases; it cures male Gu distension and female difficult labor. Baihui (GV20) and Jiutui (CV15) treat dysentery; Dachangshu (BL25) and Xiaochangshu (BL27) regulate bowel and bladder movements. Qihai (CV6) and Xuehai (SP10) treat five types of strangury; Zhongwan (CV12) and Xiawan (CV10) treat abdominal hardness. After the menstrual period in Shanghan (Cold Damage) disease, Qimen (LR14) should be needled; for Qi stabbing pain between the breasts, seek Taiyuan (LU9). Bilateral Dadun (LR1) mainly governs inguinal hernia; Shuigou (GV26) and Jianshi (PC5) treat evil mania. For vomiting and wheezing, tonify Chize (LU5); Dicang (ST4) can stop drooling. Laogong (PC8) treats physical fatigue and exhaustion; edema is relieved by moxibustion on Shuifen (CV9). Inability to extend the five fingers is treated by selecting Zhongzhu (TE3); Jiache (ST6) needling cures toothache. Yinqiao and Yangqiao vessels are beside the two ankles; for Hongjiao (foot qi disease), first seek these four acupoints. Yinlingquan (SP9) and Yanglingquan (GB34) also govern this condition; Yinqiao, Yangqiao, and Zusanli generally treat Hongjiao; the mystery in the waist should be correctly selected. Gaohuang (BL43) does more than just treat hundred diseases; if moxibustion is applied correctly, the illness must heal. One acupuncture point can remove multiple diseases; learners should pay special attention. Understanding the flow and distribution methods from a enlightened master, head and eye ailments can be treated by needling the limbs. Needling has tonification and sedation, corresponding to breathing; acupoints correspond to the Five Elements and follow the Four Seasons. Understanding the creation of the human body, this song remains but a tool (fishing trap) to be forgotten once the truth is grasped.
Whenever performing needling, one must examine the acupoints carefully, understanding the techniques of tonification, sedation, Ying-Sui (following and opposing). The chest, back, left, and right are not identical; breathing, Yin-Yang, and male-female differences exist. [Text missing]. Who knows that Tiantu (CV22) treats throat wind? For deficiency wheezing, seek Zusanli (ST36). When hand and shoulder spine pain is unbearable, needle Hegu (LI4) combined with Taichong (LR3). If Quchi (LI11) fails for both hands, careful needling of Hegu (LI4) is suitable. Heart pain and hand tremors are found at Shaohai (HT3); to cure the root, seek Yinshi (ST8). For Shanghan causing bilateral deafness, Jinmen (BL63) and Tinghui (GB2) cure quickly like wind. For five types of elbow pain, seek Chize (LU5); after needling Taiyuan (LU9), success is achieved. For upper and lower limb disorders, needle Zusanli (ST36); food stagnation and Qi masses are treated by this selection. Jiutui (CV15) treats five types of epilepsy; if Yongquan (KI1) is incorrectly used, death may result. Gastric accumulation is pierced at Xuanji (CV15); the merit of Zusanli (ST36) is often unknown. Yinlingquan (SP9) treats chest and heart fullness; needling Chengshan (BL57) restores appetite. Dazhu (BL11) connected with Changqiang (GV1) is sought for Qi stagnation and waist pain preventing standing; Henggu (KI12) and Dudu (SP13) are suitable for emergency rescue. Qihai (CV6) specifically treats five types of strangury; further needling Zusanli (ST36) coordinated with breathing. Qimen (LR14) governs Shanghan cases; after six days, if the meridian energy has not resolved and sweating has not occurred, needle Rugen (ST18) between the two ribs; it also treats difficult childbirth in women. Cicada-like ringing in ears and waist feeling like breaking: below the knee lies Mingxian Zusanli (ST36). If tonification and sedation are applied at Wuhui (CV13), do not easily tell others. When Jingming (BL1) fails for eye treatment, how can Hegu (LI4) and Guangming (GB37) be omitted? Renzhong (GV26) has the highest efficacy for epilepsy; the Thirteen Ghost Acupoints need no mercy. Edema is treated with Shuifen (CV9) and Qihai (CV6); skin and flesh Qi dissipates with needling. For cold cough, first tonify Hegu (LI4); then sedate Sanyinjiao (SP6). Tooth swelling and pain with throat bi obstruction: Erjian (LI2) and Yangxi (LI5) cannot escape. Sanjian (LI3) and Shenshu (BL23) are wonderful, effectively eliminating shoulder-back wind-labor pain. When needling Jianjing (GB21), Zusanli (ST36) must be used; without it, Qi is not regulated. Most importantly, Yanglingquan (GB34): for knee pain, use needle burning. Weizhong (BL40) treats waist pain and leg cramps; obtaining [effect]... [Text missing]. For dizziness, needle Yufu (ST34); Chengshan (BL57) and Kunlun (BL60) eliminate immediately. Abdominal pain requires Gongsun (SP4); Neiguan (PC6) corresponds and ensures cure. Cold wind and cold bi are hard to cure; Huantiao (GB30) waist needling and burning. Fengfu (GV16) and Fengchi (GB20) are found; all hundred diseases of Shanghan disappear at once. Yangming disease on the second day seeks Fengfu (GV16); vomiting requires Shangwan (CV13). Women's heart pain is treated at Xinshu (BL15); men's [pain] is high at Zusanli (ST36). Urinary incontinence is good with Guanyuan (CV4); fecal impaction is treated with burning Dadun (LR1). Hip and leg pain: sedate Zusanli (ST36); Fuliu (KI7) treats Qi stagnation moving away from the waist. Fengfu (GV16) has always been the hardest to needle; one must measure depth carefully. If Bladder Qi has not dispersed, seek Zusanli (ST36) again. For seven types of hernia and small intestine pain, needle Zhaohai (KI6), Yinjiao (SP7), and Ququan (LR8). Seek Qihai (CV6) according to the season; Guanyuan (CV4) with sedation is as effective as spirit. Small intestine Qi pulling pain connecting to the navel: quickly sedate Yinjiao (SP7) without delay. After a while, needle Yongquan (KI1) to obtain Qi; its mystery is known by few. For pediatric rectal prolapse lasting long, first moxa Baihui (GV20), then Jiutui (CV15). Long-standing Shanghan shoulder and back pain: simply needle Zhongzhu (TE3) for suitability. Shoulder pain connecting to the unceasing navel: seek Zusanli (ST36) in the hand. When needling causes numbness and heaviness, sedate immediately; upon obtaining Deqi, do not retain the needle. Waist and hip pain urgent and severe: attack the blockage at Zusanli (ST36); needle with one sedation and three tonifications. If Qi attacks the throat causing choking, continue; if choking persists, moxa Qihai (CV6); definite sedation brings immediate recovery. Tonification starts from the South of Mao, turning the needle high; sedation starts from the North of Mao, do not decline labor. To force Qi out during sedation, inhale; for tonification, follow exhalation to harmonize naturally. Twist needles left and right to find Zi-Wu lines; withdraw needle to sedate Qi over a distance. Use clear tonification and sedation techniques; search thoroughly for the root and branch. For most urgent throat conditions, first select Baihui (GV20), Taichong (LR3), Zhaohai (KI6), and Yinjiao (SP7). Learners should study diligently; Xi Hong's healing reputation is highest.
