(Yang's Annotation)
Bian Que transmitted the *Yulong Ge* (Jade Dragon Song) to me. A single trial of the *Yulong Ge* can cure chronic and severe diseases. The song of the Jade Dragon is truly rare; it has been passed down for a thousand years without error or distortion. Today I sing this *Yulong Jue* (Jade Dragon Mantra), which contains one hundred and twenty acupoints. The physician's needle skills are extraordinarily wonderful, yet I fear that people of the time may differ in their views. When tonification and sedation are clearly applied under the fingers, the golden needle instantly reveals the skilled physician. The hunchbacked will immediately straighten up, and the stooped will immediately stand upright; from then on, fame will spread throughout the world.
For those suffering from kyphosis (hunchback), tonify Quchi (LI11) and sedate Renzhong (GV26); for those suffering from lordosis (stooping), tonify Fengchi (GB20) and sedate Jiexu (GB39).
Apoplexy resulting in aphasia is the most difficult to treat. One must know the location of the Dinghui point at the hairline vertex. Furthermore, by clearly applying tonification and sedation at Baihui (GV20), the patient will awaken immediately, avoiding disaster and danger.
Dinghui is the same as Xinhui (GV22); needling is prohibited here. Moxibustion: five moxa cones. For Baihui (GV20), apply tonification first, then sedation. Moxibustion: seven moxa cones, with cones the size of wheat grains.
Clear nasal discharge is named Biyuan (nasal sinusitis). Sedation followed by tonification can cure the disease. If it is Toufeng (head wind) accompanied by eye pain, needling Shangxing (GV23) without deviation is effective.
For Shangxing (GV23), treating clear nasal discharge and loss of smell: sedate until Deqi is obtained, then tonify.
Head wind accompanied by vomiting and blurred vision: needling Shenting (GV24) initially ensures recovery. How to treat slow convulsions in children? Needling Yintang (EX-HN3) combined with moxibustion is effective.
Shenting (GV24): insert 0.3 cun, tonify first, then sedate. Yintang (EX-HN3): insert 0.1 cun, subcutaneously transmit to Zanzhu (BL2) on both sides. Effectiveness is seen if the child cries loudly; difficulty arises if they do not cry. For acute convulsions, use sedation; for slow convulsions... [text incomplete].
Stiffness and pain in the head and neck making it difficult to look back, along with toothache, should be treated similarly. First, clearly apply tonification and sedation at Chengjiang (CV24), then needle Fengfu (GV16) for immediate relief.
Chengjiang (CV24): suitable for sedation. Fengfu (GV16): needling depth must not be deep.
Lateral and frontal headaches are difficult to treat. Sizhukong (TE23) can also be used. Subcutaneously transmit posteriorly to Lvgu (GB8); one needle passing through two points is rare in the world.
There are two types of lateral and frontal headaches: one with phlegm-fluid retention and one without. Carefully observe whether phlegm-fluid retention exists. If phlegm-fluid retention is present, needle Fengchi (GB20). If absent, Hegu (LI4) will stabilize the condition.
Fengchi (GB20): needle 1.5 cun, transmitting to Fengfu (GV16). This requires horizontal needling to transmit. Tonify first, then sedate. Moxibustion: eleven moxa cones. Hegu (LI4): needle towards Laogong (PC8). Moxibustion: fourteen moxa cones.
Facial paralysis (deviation of mouth and eyes) is lamentable. Dicang (ST4) connects to Jiache (ST6). For left-sided deviation, sedate the right side following the master's teaching; for right-sided deviation, sedate the left side to prevent skewing.
Moxa cone for Dicang (ST4) should be the size of a mung bean. Needle towards Jiache (ST6); for Jiache (ST6), needle towards transmitting to Dicang (ST4).
How to treat loss of smell? Yingxiang (LI20) on both sides can be attacked. Clear distinction between tonification and sedation yields obvious effects; qi flows freely before the needle is even withdrawn.
Deafness, Qi blockage, and painful inability to speak: needling Yifeng (TE17) leads to recovery. It also treats scrofula (luoli) on the neck. Sedating upon insertion brings immediate peace.
For deafness where sound is not heard, accompanied by pain, itching, and cicada-like ringing causing discomfort: if there is redness, swelling, and sores, use sedation. Needling Tinghui (GB2) is appropriate.
Occasional loss of voice and difficulty speaking: the Yamend point (DU16) lies between the two tendons. Knowing to needle shallowly and not deeply restores normal speech.
Pain in the glabella is unbearable. Subcutaneous needling of Zanzhu (BL2) is safe. Blurred vision can also be treated; further needling Touwei (ST8) brings health.
Zanzhu (BL2): suitable for sedation. Touwei (ST8): insert 0.1 cun, subcutaneously transmit to both forehead corners. Pain uses sedation; dizziness uses tonification.
Redness and swelling of both eyes with unbearable pain, aversion to light, and inner irritability: only needle Jingming (BL1) and Yuwei (EX-UE10). Bleeding from Taiyang (EX-HN5) naturally eliminates the issue.
Jingming (BL1): needle 0.5 cun, slightly directed towards the nose. Yuwei (EX-UIT10): needle transmitting to Yuyao (EX-HN4), also known as Tongzi. Both are prohibited for moxibustion. Do not bleed if there is deficiency-type swelling.
Sudden eye pain with blood vessels bursting into the eyeball, aversion to light, dryness, and difficulty opening: needling Taiyang (EX-HN5) to bleed is required. Without using a gold knife, the disease will calm itself.
Heart fire flaring upwards causes red eyes. Needling Yingxiang (LI20) promotes flow. After extracting toxic blood, cooling the eyes yields merit.
Neiyingxiang (two points) are located in the nostrils. Use reed leaves or bamboo leaves to induce sneezing into the nostrils; bleeding is excellent. If ineffective, needle Hegu (LI4) again.
Strong pain in the spine and sedation of Renzhong (GV26) also treat sprains and lower back soreness. Moreover, Weizhong (BL40) allows you to attack various waist diseases.
Weizhong (BL40): moxibustion is prohibited. Bleeding can be performed on the purple veins around the four sides. Caution for weak patients.
Kidney weakness causing unbearable lower back pain results in abnormal movement and posture. Knowing the location of Shenshu (BL23) and frequently applying moxibustion restores health.
Huantiao (GB30) treats leg and thigh wind. Juliao (GB29) should be carefully attacked. Ensuring all toxic blood is drained from Weizhong (BL40) demonstrates the divine efficacy of medical science.
Juliao (GB29): moxibustion causes tendon contraction.
Weakness in knees and legs makes standing difficult, caused by wind-dampness disability. If one knows to moxa Fengshi (GB31) and Yinshi (ST31), walking becomes leisurely and peaceful.
Both points: tonify first, then sedate. "Er Shi" refers to Fengshi (GB31) and Yinshi (ST31).
Guanshu (extra point near hip) treats bilateral leg pain. Redness and swelling of the knees preventing walking: necessarily needle Xiyan (EX-LE5) and Xiguan (EX-LE9). Efficacy is instantaneous, preventing disease recurrence.
Xiguan (EX-LE9): located below the knee, inside Dubi (ST35). Horizontal needle transmitting to Xiyan (EX-LE5).
Cold-dampness Hong Kong foot (gout/podagra) is unbearable. First needle Zusanli (ST36) and Yinjiao (SP6), then combine with Jiexu (GB39). Swelling and pain disappear immediately.
Yinjiao here refers to Sanyinjiao (SP6).
Swollen, red legs and feet (straw sandal wind): attack Kunlun (BL60). Further needling Shenmai (BL62) and Taixi (KI3) allows the divine physician's secret method to revive the exhausted.
Waikun transmits to Neilü [Note: Text implies specific transmission technique].
Pain on the dorsum of the foot starts at Qiuxu (GB40). Diagonal needling to bleed provides instant relief. Recognize Jiexi (ST41) and Shangqiu (SP5); distinguish tonification and sedation clearly.
Difficulty walking with worsening disease: Taichong (LR3) shows remarkable efficacy. Further needling Zusanli (ST36) and Zhongfeng (LR6) removes disease like scratching with hands.
Knee redness, swelling, and crane-knee deformity: Yanglingquan (GB34) can be attacked. Transmitting from Yinlingquan (SP9) yields special effects, completely eliminating redness and swelling.
Weakness in the wrist with painful difficulty moving objects and body instability: Wan Gu (SI4) is effective, but do not take tonification and sedation lightly.
Acute pain in both arms with Qi attacking the chest: Jianjing (GB21) is clearly indicated. This point gathers true Qi; tonify more than sedating aligns with its nature.
These two points [Jianjing and another implied] are effective at 2 cun depth, being the gathering place of true Qi of the five zang organs. If fainting occurs due to weak constitution, tonify Zusanli (ST36).
Wind and cold in shoulders and back radiating to arm pain: Beifeng (two extra points) needling is clear. Wushu (GB26) also treats waist pain; finding the correct point brings instant relief.
Beifeng (two points): below the bone at the shoulder end, directly aligned with the tip of the axillary fold. Needle 2 cun, moxa 7 cones.
Tendon spasm and rigidity in both elbows connect to bones, hindering movement. Only sedating Quchi (LI11) and combining with Chize (LU5) reveals sage transmission.
Chize (LU5): suitable for sedation, no moxibustion.
Redness and swelling at the shoulder end with unbearable pain, caused by struggle between cold-dampness and abundant Qi/Blood: Clearly apply tonification and sedation at Jianliao (TE14). Many moxa sessions ensure health.
Tendon tightness preventing hand extension: Chize (LU5) must be taken seriously. Regardless of various symptoms on the head and face, one needle at Hegu (LI4) works divinely.
Abdominal Qi masses and unbearable pain: Acupoint method should defend internally via Neiguan (PC6). Famous among the Eight Confluent Points as the Yin Wei Vessel point; abdominal diseases are permanently relieved.
Tonify first, then sedate. No moxibustion. If constipation occurs, sedation opens bowels immediately.
Abdominal pain also unbearable: Daling (PC7) and Waiguan (TE5) can resolve it. If hypochondriac pain and obstruction occur, Zhigou (TE6) is miraculous.
Spleen disorders are pitiable, with cold and heat frying each other. Sedating Jianshi (PC5) clears heat; tonifying resolves cold; both recover.
Jianshi (PC5) transmits to Zhigou (TE6). If spleen cold, moxibustion is allowed.
Nine types of heart pain and spleen pain: Divine needle in Shangwan (CV13). If spleen failure, tonify Zhongwan (CV12). Two needles provide divine efficacy, avoiding disaster.
Hemorrhoids and fistulas are detestable, with internal and external urgency hard to endure. Whether painful, itchy, or bleeding: Erbai (EX-UE2) is found in the palm.
Erbai (four points): behind the palm, 4 cun from the transverse crease. Two points opposite each other, one inside the large tendon, one outside. Needle 0.5 cun. To locate: use rice straw wrapped from nape to larynx, break evenly. Align with thumb web crease, wrap twice around the two tendons' heads to the end of the straw on the forearm. This is 1 cun behind Jianshi (PC5), i.e., Ximen (PC4) area. Moxa 14 cones. Needle sedation. If ineffective, moxa Qizhumaxia (EX-B1).
Sanjiao heat congesting the upper jiao, bitter taste and dry tongue are hard to regulate. Puncturing Guancho [Note: Likely typo for Guanchong TE1 or similar, text says Guan Chu] to extract toxic blood generates saliva and cures disease.
Arm redness and swelling extending to wrist pain: Mingling needle at Yemen (TE2) is clear. Further needling Zhongzhu (TE3), sedating heavily, lightens disease.
Yemen (TE2): subcutaneous needle posteriorly, transmitting to Yangchi (TE4).
Apoplexy is serious. Zhongchong (PC9) calms it. If tonification and sedation fail, further needling Renzhong (GV26) brings quick relief.
Zhongchong (PC9): prohibited for moxibustion. Moxibustion for convulsions.
Gallbladder cold and heart deficiency: Shaochong (HT9) is most effective. Insert 0.3 cun, no moxa. Golden needle usage brings peace.
Seasonal malaria is hardest to endure. Acupoint methods were never clearly understood. If Houxi (SI3) is found, adding moxa heat brings instant relief.
Heat: sedation. Cold: tonification.
Paroxysmal toothache is bitter and frying. The point is Erjian (LI2). If suffering from reverse stomach and vomiting, Zhongkui (EX-UE3) must not be neglected.
Breast abscess (ru'e) is rarely treated. Must use golden needle to remove disease. If Shaoshang (LU11) bleeds, stability and safety follow immediately.
Use three-edged needle to bleed.
Nowadays, urticaria takes many forms. Even skilled physicians find treatment difficult. Tianjing (TE11) with heavy moxa ensures safety even if scrofula develops.
Suitable for sedation, 7 cones.
Cold-phlegm cough combined with wind: Lieque (LU7) is best to attack. First sedate Taiyuan (LU9), add moxa heat for success.
Lieque (LU7) transmits to Taiyuan (LU9). Dan point.
Dementia is unapproachable, recognizing neither superior nor inferior, cursing in vain. Shenmen (HT7) alone treats dementia. Turning the hand over the bone reveals the true point.
Suitable for sedation and moxibustion.
Continuous days of deficiency irritability and ruddy complexion, with frightening palpitations hard to bear: If Tongli (HT5) is found, one golden needle brings health.
Fright: tonification. Deficiency irritability: sedation. Needle 0.5 cun, no moxa.
Wind-dizziness and rotting eyes are pitiable, with weeping tears unspoken. Da Gukong and Xiao Gukong are excellent points. Add moxa heat, disease heals quickly.
Da Gukong and Xiao Gukong: no needling. Moxa 7 cones each, blow medicine.
Women's mastitis with unbearable pain, vomiting wind-phlegm thick as glue: Mingling tonification and sedation at Shaoze (SI1) brings instant divine efficacy and regulates Qi.
Needle 0.3 cun subcutaneously posteriorly.
Whole-body feverish pain indicates deficiency. Profuse night sweats gradually damage the body. Bilaocui Gu (extra point on vertebrae) is needed. One golden needle removes all diseases.
Sudden cough with lower back pain: Shenzhu (GV12) lightens with moxibustion. Zhiyang (GV9) also treats jaundice. Tonify first, then sedate, efficacy is clear.
Needle 0.3 cun subcutaneously. Moxa 14 cones.
Kidney failure, waist deficiency, frequent urination, distressing night waking: Mingmen (GV4) assisted by golden needle, Shenshu (BL23) moxibustion revives... [text missing].
Heavy moxibustion, no sedation.
Nine types of hemorrhoids harm people most. Necessarily pierce Chengshan (BL57) with divine effect. Changqiang (GV1) is also true, marked by groaning and severe pain.
Unresolved wind-cold with frequent coughing, becoming consumption if untreated: Cough needs Feishu (BL13). Phlegm abundance seeks Fenglong (ST40).
Moxibustion formula is effective.
Gaohuang (BL43) strongly treats disease. Originally difficult to measure. Prohibit needling, use much moxa. Twenty-one cones are harmless.
Loose interstices cause frequent coughing, clear nasal discharge, and heavy Qi. Know Fengmen (BL12) for sneezing. Deep moxa for cough.
Needle subcutaneously outward.
Gallbladder cold causes fear of startling. Spermatorrhea and white turbidity are hard to control. Night dreams of ghost intercourse: treat with Xinshu (BL15). Bairuan Shu (BL30) treated similarly.
Also effective on both sides of Qihai (CV6) below the umbilicus.
Liver blood deficiency causes blurred vision. Tonify Ganshu (BL18) to add strength. Frequently sedate Zusanli (ST36); restoring light and benefiting blood ensures no relapse.
More tonification, less sedation. Moxibustion.
Spleen disorders have many forms, leading to inverted stomach and difficult vomiting. Jaundice also seeks Wanggu (SI4). Golden needle definitely captures Zhongwan (CV12).
No-sweat cold damage: sedate Fuliou (KI7). Excessive sweating: gather with Hegu (LI4). If six pulses are all fine and minute, one golden needle tonification makes pulse float again.
Insert Fuliou (KI7) 0.3 cun, subcutaneously 1 cun below bone.
Constipation unable to pass: Zhaohai (KI6) is clear in the foot. Further sedate Zhigou (TE6) to know the divine merit of the excellent point.
Lower abdomen fullness with Qi attacking heart: Neiting (ST44) needs initial needling. If water in both feet, sedate Linqid (GB15); if no water, disease does not invade.
Apply oil to needle mouth, do not close hole.
Seven types of hernia: take Dadun (LR1). Method comes from between toes. All classics record the three hairs location. Without master transmission, separated by ten thousand mountains.
Consumption disease is hardest to treat. Bleeding Yongquan (KI1) avoids disaster. Phlegm abundance: sedate Fenglong (ST40). Asthma: Dantian (CV4) can be applied.
General body pain is unusual. Carefully examine uncertain points. Tendons and bones require shallow needling. Moxibustion quantity depends on timing.
Uncertain point means the painful spot.
Laogong (PC8) is found in the palm. Hand sores with unbearable pain: Chest and heart diseases, sedate Daling (PC7). Qi attacking chest and abdomen treated similarly.
Asthma is hardest to endure, sleeping poorly at night with panting. Tiandu (CV22) is an excellent point to find. Moxa on Danzhong (CV17) brings health.
Jiuwei (CV15) alone treats five types of epilepsy. This point must be observed carefully. If moxa, seven cones are suitable; too many harm people, needling is difficult.
Non-experts should not lightly needle.
Rapid asthma preventing sleep, why suffer day and night? Ruoji (CV15) sedated, plus Qihai (CV6) brings peace.
Qihai (CV6): tonify first, then sedate.
