Teeth ache intermittently as if being roasted; puncture Lüxi (BL63) and apply the Shengyang (Ascending Yang) technique to induce bleeding, and the pain will stop. Then take Zusanli (ST36) and apply the Shengyang technique. For Fanwei (Rebellious Stomach causing vomiting), follow other principles. Zhongwan (CV12) is treated with the Panpan (Disk-turning) technique seven times. Qihai (CV6) has a Shengyang method recorded in texts. Then take Qihai (CV6) and apply the Xiachen (Descending and Securing) technique; after three pans of nine rubs, withdraw the needle.

For Ru'e (Millet Seed [tonsillitis]), know Shangshang (LU11); bleeding should be applied urgently and appropriately. If Qi does not reach Waiguan (TE5), applying the Shengyang technique at Zusanli (ST36) will regulate it spontaneously. Then bleed all ten fingertips; the efficacy and safety depend on seizing the opportunity. Re-take Taichong (LR3) and these two acupoints; if bleeding does not change the condition, it is incurable.

Hand and foot conditions vary. The Shengyang technique for ascending Qi is applied at Waiguan (TE5). Quchi (LI11) and Waiguan (TE5) together use the Qi-shang (Qi Ascending) method; urgently apply rubbing to assist Yang recovery. Yanglingquan (GB34) uses the Qi-shang Shengyang method, causing Qi to ascend and Yin to descend instantly. If using the rubbing withdrawal technique, when the skin rises by three fen, the patient will laugh frequently.

Shengyang techniques cover no more than two joints. One joint of Shengyang involves pressing connected with trembling. Qi-shang Shengyang exists in every joint, further connecting with rubbing to pull all hundred joints.

After twice performing Shengyang, Qi connects smoothly. Urgently induce bleeding like a spring. If bleeding is not induced, the rebellious Qi makes recovery difficult.

Asthma requires Shengyang. Internal and external Shengyang leads to recovery. Tiantu (CV22) and Danzhong (CV17) are specifically drained. Zusanli (ST36) applies Shengyang to guide Qi downward effectively. To stop asthma immediately, when Qi arrives with a trembling scraping sensation, switch to Shengyin (Ascending Yin). Perform Shengyin one or two more times; when trembling occurs, press urgently and withdraw the needle.

The Dapan (Large Disk) nine-method involves ten cycles. Two acupoints are extended and lifted, moving spontaneously. Cycle seven more times like rubbing. The upper acupoint performs Shengyang, the lower stops. If using the Xiang (Resonance) method for Shengyang securing, the lower acupoint performs Shengyang producing resonance sounds. If various diseases cannot extract Qi through lifting, adding rubbing yields miraculous effects.

First cycle twice seven equals fourteen times. In the middle, use Panpan (Disk-turning) seven times. Secure this method to act on Qihai (CV6); Qihai undergoes seven disks and seven securities at a high position.

Abdominal Piqi (Stagnant Qi) is hard to treat uniformly. First attack with Dapan forty times. Add securing and rubbing methods on four sides. Zhongwan (CV12) performs Shengyang until Qihai (CV6) is exhausted. Add Zhongwan Shengyin descending; Qihai Shengyang produces natural resonance. To remove disease effectively via extension and lifting, shake three times to remove disease, and the needle loosens naturally.

Fushuang (Double Acupoints on Abdomen) is hard to select. First, take the left side and cycle to the left. If starting from the right side, secure the Qi stopping at the center. Extend and lift until skin rises, add securing methods. Use Panpan once. To remove disease, seek resonance; lift and rub to move the Qi away.
