Pain from flowing accumulation (Liuzhu) in the feet and knees, if worsening at dusk, belongs to a Yin syndrome, pitiable. Pressing this acupoint often reveals scraping and trembling sensations; when applying acupuncture, the central acupoint should be treated first. If the disease is lateral, employ lifting, rubbing, and tonifying methods; if the disease is central, tonification alone leads to recovery. Upon needle withdrawal, perform frequent trembling and pressing, plucking the acupoint to release a small amount of blood to expel pathogenic qi.
Five-center tidal fever gradually invades; during Shen (15:00-17:00) and You (17:00-19:00) hours, Yin qi prevails and heat naturally subsides. First puncture Laogong (PC 8) to release blood, then Yongquan (KI 1) to ascend Yang qi to the heart. If the reaction after needling these four acupoints is strong, on the next day puncture Zhongji (CV 3) using the "disc plate" technique. Retain the needle for a number of breaths, and through heavy pressing, extending, and lifting, sink the blood and qi.
Men suffering from Hong Kong foot (podagra/foot swelling and pain) with dull pain: moxibustion is prohibited, but multiple acupuncture sessions are permissible. Select two acupoints from the Yangming meridians to regulate Qi up and down; taking blood from Taichong (LR 3) is beneficial. Use the plucking and scraping method at Yongquan (KI 1) to dispel pathogens, and the scraping and trembling technique at Kunlun (BL 60). Add Gongsun (SP 4) with slight bleeding; harmonizing all acupoints strengthens this treatment.
Men often suffer from bone and tendon pain; physicians should harmonize by obtaining blood. The manual technique should involve rubbing, lifting, and raising, causing Qi to ascend and Yang to recover, thus curing the disease. Urgently select the point and retain for fifty breath cycles, then use trembling and rubbing to dissipate heat naturally. This utilizes the He-sea points of the foot to extract heat; the disease will naturally resolve within seven days.
When men experience five-center fever, apply five moxa cones to Bailao (EX-B 2), stimulating with trembling and lifting to urge Qi and Blood. Neiguan (PC 6) should be used to direct Qi downward; Zusanli (ST 36) directs Qi downward and raises Yin to return. Retain for thirty breath cycles, then treat Bailao with scraping and trembling to open it. Harmonize Zusanli and urgently apply descending techniques; extend and lift other acupoints following the same principle.
Urgent movement in the lower abdomen with great abdominal pain, and pain in the hypochondrium and back making movement difficult. For the lower abdomen, use the Dantian (CV 8) disc plate technique; for the great abdomen, use the Zhongwan (CV 12) technique of grasping and returning. For the hypochondrium, use the disc plate technique seven times; for back pain, select Jianjing (GB 21) and Weizhong (BL 40). At Jianjing, use extension, lifting, and trembling to raise the skin; at Zusanli (ST 36), ensure the descending of Qi is clear.
Men suffering from heart and head pain with mutual torment, dysphagia, difficult breathing, and constrained Qi. Treat Shangwan (CV 13) with a deep/disk technique seventy-seven times; Neiguan (PC 6) raises Yang Qi to treat upper asthma; Zusanli (ST 36) moves Qi upward and presses Shangwan. Immediately apply descending methods to relieve pain. On the next day, puncture Taichong (LR 3); continuous bloodletting yields miraculous results.
Men suffering from upper asthma and difficult breathing: Zusanli (ST 36) raises Yin Qi, and directing Qi downward relieves urgency. Further use Sanyinjiao (SP 6) to raise Yin; the method lies in resolving phlegm, so Qi becomes healthy.
Deficiency-type constipation with inability to pass stool: attack with Neiting (ST 44), Zhaohai (KI 6), and Zusanli (ST 36). Even if descending methods are used, bowel movement occurs within moments; harmonizing multiple acupoints depends on the practitioner's skill.
